Can we get stuttering fix implemented when subtitles are activated please? ![]()
Use CE-NO, there is no reason to use CE-NE anymore.
Non of the skins are ready for NO.
This only reason makes NO unusable unfortunatelyā¦
crash, crash and crashā¦
Right now it looks like there is a Python thread crash with GUI and language invoker. It happens mostly when watch something for a bit of time and then open gui with back.
Tomorrow nightly revert the last python bump by LE, maybe it get better thanā¦
You have to tell that to skin makers! It is time for them to jump on Kodi Piers.
Thereās one ready for piers.
It doesnāt crash on an Windows kodi22 and Android kodi22.
But still with CE22 itās a lot better than other skins but occasionally crashes happening.
I found build from 21 March 2025 most stable from released till last night.. Maybe something after this date as well but 1 May is defo crashing a lotā¦.
With default skin edited in files manually to my liking thereās no crashes at all.. This makes me really worry cause kodi 22 is close to release date and yet no one cares..
Skinners might wait adapting to Piers until after the alpha period. It would be wasted effort tracking all āin betweenā changes. I think it might pick up after construction settles down a bitā¦

CoreELEC 21.2 was doing fine.
Nightlies did fine also except for last 2-3
CoreELEC 21.3
I cannot set default resolution to 4k. It shows up a small picture on the top left hand side of the screen.
It plays a 4k movie fine except when I go to the menu that shows up in the left hand side top of the screen.
I was going to downgrade back to NE 21.2
I have the same problem with a Khadas VIM4 A311D2 except the videos are also playing only in the top left 1/4 of the screen. I did try a clean install, same story.
I did notice if I activate āDisable GUI scalingā on 21.2, it has the same āsmall screen top leftā behavior. I resolve by disabling this option. It has no effect on 21.3 though.
Maybe this option is stuck āonā on 21.3?
CE-NO what now? There are 2 choices:NG and NE, each with specific board models. There is absolutely nothing related to NO on the github.
EDIT: I have just figured out that NO is related to Piers alpha1. I would rather run a real stable release or at least a prerelease. I donāt get why the team released a buggy 21.3 version just to tell us there is no reason to run it and direct us to another buggy alpha release.
But 21.3 is not stable and buggy on some boards. So to update we are stuck between a buggy āstableā release or a buggy alpha release? I am staying on 21.2, which is also buggy but at least there is a way to run it in 4k.
Then please give us a favour and stay with the old release. No information about device nor any log, nothing.
Do you think issues can be solved by this?
CE-NG and CE-NE is EOL.
Kodi Omega is EOL.
Just a couple of post higher.
A Khadas Vim4 with a Amlogic Meson T7 A311D2.
on Homatics Box R 4K Plus, the interface doesnāt scale when viewing 4k media.
I tested this by installing 21.2 - which behaves ok then i upgraded to 21.3 and when i switched to 4k the ui was just a quarter of the screen.
I also installed 21.3 from scratch and the same thing happened.
Hello all, i am experiencing a persistent issue, like others in this thread, with the CoreELEC 21.3 update on my Nokia 8010 box. when I play a 2160p (4K) video, the GUI interface remains stuck in 1080p resolution, displayed in the top-left corner of the screen, while the video plays correctly in 4K. The interface does not adapt to the video resolution as expected.
I have tried all the usual solutions, including:
-Resetting the video calibration settings multiple times.
-Checking and toggling the āDisable GUI scalingā option.
-Testing and toggling the āOverride level 5 metadata to zeroā option.
-Forcing the GUI resolution to 3840x2160 in Kodi settings, but it still remains in the top-left corner.
-Deleting or renaming the guisettings.xml file to reset interface settings.
-Changing Kodi skins to check if the problem came from the skin used (I use Estuary mod).
-Testing with the default Kodi skin (Estuary) and disabling all non-essential addons.
This problem is identical when playing Dolby Vision, HDR, or HDR10+ content.
None of these methods have resolved the problem. I have tested each time with a reboot and each option alone or combined with others but it makes no difference. The interface remains small in a corner at 1080p and does not correctly scale to 4K when playing UHD content.
I would be very grateful for any advice or advanced troubleshooting steps to fix this display problem. I never had this issue on CoreELEC 21.2.
Thank you in advance for your help.
It has been told that Omega is now EOL. It seems that veesion 21.3 didnāt improve much over 21.2 and most of the efforts are going towards 22 Piers, so personally Iām going to hold onto 21.2 until a proper 22 comes out. I donāt think the remaining quirks in 21.3 will be ironed out and my Khadas seems to think a quarter screen is ok (no error in log). Canāt really help with the debug.
