CoreELEC 22.0-Piers_alpha1 Discussion

This fixed the problem I had since I try to launch NO.
Have 2GB rev.A unit.

Thanks!

Please try also these changes:

Enusre max_freq_cluster is disabled in config.ini before testing!

none is working.

v1 is bootlooping after a multicolor noisy background, and v2 is rebooting after a brief log of CPU errors.

And this version?

g12b_s922x_odroid_n2_v3.dtb (75.0 KB)

Doesn’t work either, it behaves like V1 with a different noise image, then it reboots.

edit: same v3 dtb with max_freq_cluster=‘0:1800,1:1896’ is booting fine

@doug @mattamore please set max_freq_cluster in config.ini and then update with this build:

like by SSH: update-ce https://…

After the update disable the max_freq_cluster in config.ini again and see if it does boot now.

Then please make a dmesg | paste.

update → ok

reboot → ok

`max_freq_cluster` disabled → ok

reboot → ok

dmesg : https://paste.coreelec.org/PinkyHoynes

My experience was simliar as mattamore’s.

v1. multi-coloured speckles and a freeze after HK logo

v2. HK logo, CE logo, bootloop

v3 HK logo, CE logo with many numbers down the screen and a kernel panic

your build on mega worked: https://paste.coreelec.org/MeeksMidge

can latest COREELEC 22 piers ALPHA1 supported Gt KING s922?

Yes, as was documented in original NO announcement (Piers is NO based).

Beelink GT King G12B S922X

use g12b_s922x_beelink_gt_king.dtb

Note that you, I suppose, come from 32 bit NG, but, NO is 64 bit.

So upgrade may have some issues for some add-ons that depend on binary 32 bit files.

This, of course, is not a CE upgrade issue but an add-on issue.

I personally did a clean NO install coming from NE.

I had a backup to easily reinstall some configuration files for some specific add-ons userdata if needed.

I am not sure if developers recommend clean install or also allow normal NE to NO upgrade.

thats a fair point, my only reason for keeping updated is to pick up the latest version of Kodi, although I must admit the current version is very stable and provides all I currently need

Guys thanks for your kind reply regarding gt king support. Can you verify that google addons (cguzzman repository 3.0 report.daro.mx) works in latest coreelec 22 piers alpha 1 because I only use Google addon (cguzzman repository 3.0 report.daro.mx) in coreelec.

I cannot tell if google addons (cguzzman repository 3.0 report.daro.mx) works.

I do not use them …

If they need binaries for which no working 64bit files exist, then too bad.

If not, and they would not be latest Python 3.13.x proof, then too bad.

But … many addons, certainly from decent developers, support 64bit and Python proof

Thanks devs!

I think this is the wiser answer. I love DV and FEL on my ugoos and im terrified to be automatic updated into a version that doesnt support it anymore. I guess I will grab a install version and a recent update file to keep it stored in case that happens

Thanks for support, Work very well new alpha

Hi,

I have tried to boot my Odroid N2+ from USB drive that I had prepared with both, rufus v4.9 under Win 11 and USBImager 1.0.10 under Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS and in both cases the petitboot manager always fails to load it.
I had also tried with the g12b_s922x_odroid_n2.dtb from device tree folder an have put it into the root of the COREELEC partition, renamed to dtb.img - no success.

The Odroid simply doesn’t want to boot the 22.0-alpha 1, while the 21.2-stable boots ever since from my other USB drive.

Any hints? Thanks.

Why you copied dtb.img?

When using the N2 image the DTB is already in place. CE-NO does not support petitboot, so switch must be in eMMC position.

If still not working try to use uSD or eMMC.
