Hi Portisch, okay here is the SSH debug log after following your instructions (or at least I think I did)

You can try to set a delay for the frame rate switch. Like 1 to 2 seconds.
It looks like it switch to early the display mode before DV is signaled at all.
Not sure how to solve such issue without have such hardware…

Okay, I set Kodi setting ā€œDelay after change of refresh rateā€ (is the setting you are talking about?) to 1sec, then 2sec, then 3sec and for all three I now get a totally blank red screen only.

Like I mentioned though, DV works all fine for me with -ng so ummm, anyway to implement a solution from -ng? Reason I say this is because in my first post in which I brought this to your attention I mentioned that a lot of the chatter from April 2024 was about a ā€œSony timing issueā€ and then a fix was implemented into -ng. Sorry, am just trying to be helpful from what I remember a year and half ago

In the future though, once your v22 -no becomes stable, more Sony’s will be coming and they will report this same issue (?) Hopefully not, but if you want any more testing from me I am more than eager

Hello All

Since maybe 2 weeks I’ve recently run into an issue with Live TV using the Teleboy PVR client on CoreELEC Nightly NO-Build. The stream freezes after a short time and shows ā€œCacheā€ at the bottom left. I wanted to share the details here to see if anyone has experienced something similar or has a solution.

Hardware:

  • Device: TOX3 Player

  • SoC: Amlogic S905X4

Software:

  • CoreELEC Version: Latest Nightly (fresh install, NO)

  • PVR Client: Teleboy

  • Installation: CoreELEC build was completely reinstalled from scratch, only the Teleboy PVR client installed (no other add-ons).

Issue Description:

When watching Live TV via the Teleboy PVR client, playback freezes after a short time and displays ā€œCacheā€ at the bottom left. It looks like caching is not working properly.

However, when watching in past, everything works fine without any interruptions. The Problem exist only when i watching live.

This issue started approximately two weeks ago, possibly after switching from Kodi Piers Alpha1 to Alpha2, but I cannot confirm this with certainty.

Tests Performed:

  • Tested on another box (Amlogic S912 SoC) running the latest LibreELEC Nightly (Kodi Piers) with the same Teleboy PVR client → No issue there.

  • This suggests the problem might be specific to CoreELEC or the S905X4 platform.

Logs:

https://paste.coreelec.org/SegmentLabour

https://paste.coreelec.org/HaveshamSwirling

https://paste.coreelec.org/FirmsDictates

Additional Notes:

  • Network connection is stable.

  • No other add-ons or heavy background tasks running.

  • The issue seems isolated to Live TV streaming on CoreELEC Nightly.

Has anyone experienced similar behavior with Teleboy on CoreELEC Nightly? Could this be related to changes in Kodi Piers Alpha2 or CoreELEC’s handling of buffering/caching for Live TV?

Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and greetings

I forgot to turn on debug logging.

Here the Log again:

2 x Tox3

I use IPTV AU and AussieAddons for all my streamed and CatchUp tv.

I don’t get any issues. My cache is set to 128 if that makes any difference?

What does the Speedtest app (Kodi repo) show?

Hi. Thanks for the info. If you don’t have the problem with IPTV, it does seem a bit client-specific… I’ll try the Zattoo client and also IPTV today or tomorrow, and if that work, I’ll send the log to the Teleboy client developer… but something’s definitely wrong. The CPU goes up to 100% as soon as the freeze occurs (after ca. 1min watching). Greetings

Not sure when this started happening, but Docker stopped working

/storage/.kodi/addons/service.system.docker/bin/dockerd: error while loading shared libraries: libnftables.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or d

Update image to nightly which has library included.

Oh, iptables got swapped for nftables. Unfortunately the conversion doesn’t seem to work as the daemon is still working off iptables. Adding --iptables=false to the sysctl script of the daemon fixes this. Thanks @vpeter !

Okay, I did some more testing. The Zattoo PVR client (same developer as Teleboy) have the same problem, and the IPTV client works for me also without freezing. I will send the log to the developer of Teleboy and Zattoo. Maybe he will have an idea. Thanks again for your time and best regards.

I know that v22 Piers doesn’t support DV P7 FEL. I was curious as to why? Is it a limitation in the dovi.ko file (e.g. vs the dovi.ko for v21 Omega ng)? Something else in DV implementation? Finally, any chance that Piers will get DV P7 FEL support for the AM6B+?

All has been answered few times.

Can you point me to the post(s)? I’ve been searching but haven’t seen the answers. Thanks.

Report that to the author of the skin?

With default skin is still ok?

I added missing eac3_ddp_atmos.png into flagging\audio folder and compiled new Textures.xbt file.

Now latest Kodi Piers Nightly shows the label:

Good that there is up to date documentation here: https://kodi.wiki/view/InfoLabels
