CoreElec and HDR10+ / HDR10 Plus

Leave it on Auto.

I cannot get my S905X3 box running 9.2.7 to play HDR10+ content. My TV is a Vizio M658-G1, which supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, and the TV’s OSD does show which format is being. I have confirmed this with the built-in Amazon app and by playing files from a USB stick plugged into the TV. The box is connected directly to the TV via HDMI. HDR to SDR is set to auto.

Here is my dispinfo while playing back a HDR10+ file:
http://ix.io/2Vyd
and a Dolby Vision file:
http://ix.io/2Vyn

Both simply show as “HDR10” on my TV OSD.

Set SDR to HDR to Off and HDR to SDR to Auto and reboot.
DV output is not supported by CE, and you also need a box that is Dolby certified for it to be supported in the first place.

These are the settings I already have.

I’m trying to get HDR10+ working.

Hello can explain to me how DisplayInfo works.
When playing a movie I click on O but it does not show me any Hdr or Hdr10 + informations

Thank you to you and long life to Coreelec

It depends on what skin you use. Use the default CoreELEC skin and you will see all informations.

Thanks for your answer
I test with Estuary, Estuarydia and Embuary information appears but false

In kodi
EOTF & Gamut : SDR; BT.709

in mediainfo

Format : HEVC
Format/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding
Profil du format : Main 10@L5.1@High
HDR format : SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible
Gamme de couleurs : Limited

Mastering display luminance : min: 0.0050 cd/m2, max: 4000 cd/m2

Where are the problem ?
Thanks

Does your TV support HDR10?
You see SDR because CE is outputting an SDR signal. Getting HDR depends on the settings you’ve made in CE and the capabilities of the devices (TV/AVR/Soundbar/etc.) in the HDMI chain.

Thank you for your answer.
Indeed under my development box my tv is not HDR.
Can you provide me the CE code to insert in DialogPlayerProcessInfo.xml to display HDR info.
Is there a way to retrieve the encoding info of movies other than by Kodi because I want to integrate HDR flags in my Aeon Miro Nox skin

The dialog displays the output signal, not the transfer function type of the content itself.
If your TV doesn’t support SDR, the dialog will display SDR, because that is the signal type CE is sending your TV.
If you TV supports HDR, you will see HDR10/HLG, depending on the format.

Oh shit :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
So actually my flag appears with the name of the movies like ( avatar (2009) hdr.mkv) or ( avatar (2009) hdr10+.mkv)

That is unrelated, Team Kodi handles that part.

or not … Team Kodi :-1: sorry
I have already contacted the Team but still no answers. Like always

Hi there,

I’am new in the use of Coreelec.

I have x96air and with the last version 19.2 rc2 it works very good , and works truehd a dts-hd ma.

I just have a feedback in the video, in 4k works in 60fps , and have runs movies @24fps with HDR10 10bits 4:4:4. But in moveis with HDR10+ they still do hdr10.

If I select 4k with 60fps, the movie pass to hdr10 8bits 4:2:0.

I select all option but never have HDR10+, because the quality image in dark areas are great.

Please, see this small upgrade, for the next RC3!

Tks

Where do you check if it’s playing HDR10+?

Hi, in the normal android, playing in kodi it did it HDR10+ in the movies.

But there I dont have truehd and dtshd ma.

I checked in my denon avr.

In coreelec I have the sound upgrade, but image just gives hdr10, not hdr10+

Can you provide a small sample of the file? Because hdr10+ works in CE.

this is some of the pictures

1st in androd/kodi have HDR10+ 4:4:4 8bits @60fps

In CoreElec HDR10 4:4:4 10bits @24fps

In CoreElec HDR10 4:2:2 12bits @24fps
