CPM builds

cpm works only on NG not NE

i have installed NG Build. Fresh installed, and updated to V11.

Are DV settings there when you switch to latest NG nightly?

No Settings :frowning:

Then it’s not cpm build issue. You will need to get DV settings working on nightly first.

Yeah that’s the main issue (there are other additional av sync tweaks) which has been fixed in the nightlies as of 28/11. The latest cpm build was before this date so doesn’t contain the fix.

My CPM also has this problem, but I have found a temporary solution. When the audio and video are not synchronized, press the left button once, and the audio and video will be synchronized again. If it doesn’t work once, try again. For 99% of ISO, this problem can be solved.

So just for clarification, if I update to the latest CPM build, it does not update the base coreelec kernel, or other coreelec fixes? Should I be doing that? Or just update CPM builds as they come out and that takes care of everything? I used the guide back when it recommended the stable build but I now see it’s recommending the latest nightly as a starting point so I’m not sure if I should redo the whole install.

Thanks!

It includes changes up to the 11/23 nightly, though technically the cpm builds have been rebased from CE nightlies starting from A6 (?) so commits are picked and choosed to be included. The latest A/V sync changes from 11/29 nightly are not included in A11 cpm build.

Stable or nightly doesn’t matter for cpm build. It just needs an installed 21.1.1 base.

It essentially overwrites the base kernel so doesn’t include fixes which are included after the cpm build is released. It’s up to cpm to update his releases to keep pace with the nightly releases. It’s one of the reasons it would be so much easier if his work was included in the main release but sadly it’s not to be.

I make a fresh install of stable 21.1.1 Base NG. I updated to latest Nightly.
Still no Dolby Vision settings on my Nokia 8010.

What have I missed?

Have you copied the dovi.ko file as per the guide? I have linked the s922x-j guide, but I’m sure s905 needs that file, too.

Is CPM informed about the latest sync fixes? Maybe he is willing to incorparate those fixes into a new A12 build?!

Well he can access the releases like everyone else. :man_shrugging: I’d be surprised if he wasn’t aware. He’s stated though that he’s doing this now as a personal hobby though so there shouldn’t be an expectation that his releases keep pace with the nightlies.

I can confirm that upscaling doesn’t work (whitelist includes nothing, is empty)
If GUI is set at 1080p and content is 1080p - the TV just playes it back at that resolution.
Any thoughts on this, please?
Thank you

I’m not sure what kind of upscaling you expect to be done if both the GUI and the content are 1080p? If you want Kodi to do the upscaling, you should whitelist only the 4K resolutions. But normally upscaling is best left to your TV.

Yes, that’s how it should be. Your TV is upscaling 1080p to 2160p, otherwise you’d only see the picture in upper left quarter of the screen

Your tv will show it as a 1080p source but it will be scaled to the resolution of your screen. If you have a 4k tv, your tv will be upscaling all 1080p sources to 4k.

Missing dovi File was the solution.
Now i have Dolby Vision settings, but a new problem.

No Picture when i play a Dolby Vision movie. OSD is working while Playback.
I test different settings, but it don’t work.
My TV is a TCL QM8B.

Above you write that you are running the latest nightly, so not a CPM build? In that case you are posting in the wrong topic

About your DV issue, did you try using player-led TV instead of TV-led? Maybe your TV doesn’t support TV-led?
