Just download the bdmv and pack it via mkvtoolnix or makemkv, it’s my preferred method since getting CoreElec, alot of remuxes are p8.1, so they can be played on tv players.
Long story short you are correct but it took a while. I did only play Hugo twice on 20.3 to see if paused around the same places each time (which was pretty much everywhere). So after reading your post I’ve tested it quite a few times (8?) with 20.4 and tried playing something non-DV or P8 or FEL inbetween to see if that causes it to play up and it continued to play perfectly. Then I just stopped it and played it from the start a few times and eventually (3) it started pausing. I then played a few seconds of a FEL and went back to and it played fine again.

5th Element has a 100% record of pausing at the exact same time so far for me.
I only have the one .TS FEL a LG DEMO.ts 04.06.BL,EL,RPU and it played with a very Green screen with 20.4. CE
But it plays fine with Monsoon on android.
Unfortunately I just tested this with 20.4 (for the first time) and it did have the problem just before the map.

Hi all!
My ugoos am6b+ will arrive in about 1 week. Im wondering how to install CE on it.
As i understand: CE is pre-installed on the box.
So to get update to lastest version, what should i do?
- Logon to android, upgrade to lastest firmware? After this step, can i boot to old pre-insyalled CE?

Curious, are most people only testing this on the stable versions of Nexus (e.g. 20.4) and not any of the omega Beta builds? Does it matter as such? I got used to the Omega ones since I’ve been running on that for nearly a year due to my Shields and AFTV Cube. Kodi 21/Omega admittedly does have some nice new features related to DV (such as including HDR type for scanned content). But not sure if that’ll add too many variables into the mix.
As for titles on disc I have (all US releases):
*Both 1995 ghost in the machine, and the Johanson remake. The remake indeed is HDR only.
*LOTR extended trilogy
*Spider-Man no way home
*Dune (I keep forgetting this is not a split file and the movie itself is titled part 1 LOL)

are the nexus and omega versions identical in terms of dv support (fel) or does the omega version have any disdvantages regarding dv?
Mine didn’t come with dualboot, am6 firmware should be v.0.5.4, check that in Ugoos settings.
If you don’t have Dualboot firmware it is available from Ugoos but that hasn’t been updated since Oct 2022, I have no idea what “Stable” CE version that would give you after updating. If you want to test latest then forget about dualboot and burn CE to a fast micro SD card and boot up (edit: INSTALL) with the reset button aka toothpick method. SD card inserted and switch power on at plug while holding reset button in. Box will then boot to CE when powered on and SD card is inserted.

Latest version CE ? There are usually different Pre-release [ng] or [ng-dv] options available like CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng-dv.arm-21.0-Omega_beta3-Generic.img.gz or CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng-dv.arm-20.4-Nexus-Generic.img.gz which is what I’m currently running as CE informed us (on this thread) the newest 20.3 release would have working FEL. (@PurplePlayer Which is why we have been testing 20.3 or 4.)

I’ve read most of this thread and I apologize for asking a question whose answer may well be somewhere in this thread but…For DV HDR Profile 7 FEL to work using CoreELEC is the Ugoos Android firmware required to be on the eMMC or does CoreELEC replace Android with itself on the eMMC (I’m not asking about dual-boot, just booting into CoreELEC.) Thank your for your forbearance.
Yes, CE needs access to libs and modules located on the android partition.

No way I’m going to use the SD Card boot method indefinitely, having to use a paperclip to start up the device long term will be a PITA LOL
Under the 0.5.4 firmware package, it appears they provide regular OTA payloads, and a dualboot image. They mark those dce (which i assume stands for dual-boot CoreElec). The full dce .img file is about 512MB larger than the regular .img so I suspect that’s the extra for CoreELEC… Probably can just flash that. reboot into CoreELEC, and then apply the .tar update over it?
It can be done in dualboot with some caution…

I updated my CE from 20.3 to 20.4 on my Ugoos Am6b plus yesterday. Unfotunately I suddenly got wrong colors if I start a file for the first time (hdr movie). If I stop the playback and dtart it again, it plays fine. And I had a hdmi reconnect (blackscreen for 1 second) twice yesterday. This happend never before with 20.3. Has someone had similar issues?

You only need to press the reset button after a CE clean install or a Ugoos fw update (the latter seems unlikely now).
Once you have installed CE with SD card you can boot to Android by either selecting it in the CE power menu (Reboot to NAND) or turn power back on without the card fully in the slot. If the card is inserted it will boot to CE.
have been trying to figure out the same thing. I asked and the only answer I got was try it and see. I see you and a couple others have asked as well and I don’t see any feedback. All of the discussions center around 20.3 and now 20.4 and I am not sure if that is because more people prefer the stable release or if it is because dv Fel 7 doesn’t work or works differently in 21. If you figuring anything out let me know. I have dialed in build in 21 on my Rockek ne box and the bugs in 21 are acceptable for my usage, and I was hoping to restore my backup to the Ugoos am6b+ box I have arriving today, rather then having to setup all the add ons from scratch in 20 which is time consuming for me.(assuming this will work ne to ng). If you figure anything out let me know, and if I happen to decide to install 21 ng-dv I will post what I figure out.
I have no idea what is different or if 21.0-Omega_beta3 does FEL. If you do test it let us know.

Today I aligned NG & NE, CE-20 and CE-21 Kodi.
So if all went fine tomorrow nightly versions should match in Kodi DV handling, not sure.

Yes, I have been reading the posts and eagerly awaiting the Ugoos box. I am just not sure if that updated Fel 7 functionality exits in both 20 and 21 at this point. I guess I will try 21 first since that is quick for me, and report back what I can deduce, and if I have problems will wipe and do 20.4. There is no reason for me to choose 21 really, accept being too lazy to want to find and install all my add ons again and configure the skin.
My box has arrived, installed ce 20.3 on sd card, after first boot, its auto upgrade to 20.4.
Turn off player led (as default) then played test movie (bl_el.mkv) and i could see shaded bar, a girl behind the sense…
