Dolby Vision for Minix U22X-J (Max) and Ugoos AM6+

Thanks for that. So both movies I played were FEL titles. One of which was the often mentioned in this thread 1917 and it actually played without issue other than when I skipped back a few times which induced a little stuttering. It was actually the better of the two moves in terms of overall playback. So is it only 21 that’s having issues with this movie?

The ugoos seems to be a tad duller in the observations over all still.

This is a solid development by the CE team towards the perfect streaming box none the less.Huge thanks and shout out to DMDreview and Reset_9999 aka Salty01 for their comparisons and testing as well.

Would be nice if this was incorporated into the OSD somewhere

Hi, Minix u22 xj max user here. The option of tv-led or player-led in system-coreelec settings is missing on all builds/nightlies on the max so i have no idea to verify true tv-led. Any help please.

Did you switch settings to expert in bottom left corner?

Yes sorry forget to mention that i did.

Edit 1:Also I have tried to install am6b+ 0.5.4 normal & dualboot firmware on it but can’t get pass uboot in amlogic usb burning tool.
Edit 2:In all dovi.ko file is present. It plays fel files perfect but just unable to verify true tv-led. Does anyone here have the u22-xj max?

You need the dovi.ko file

Yes it does, the reason I suspect it is not true tv-led is because i tested RESET_9999 CMv2.9 test files on it on an lg C6 and got no reaction.

does the c6 support cm4.0?

No is 8 years old, so only CMv2.9 i believe.

So just to confirm in the settings you have it on Display Led?

It’s there in system-coreelec-use player led. I have a Minix

Which file did you try? 2016-2017 LG TVs maybe have issues with P8 files. I know the internal player doesn’t support P8.

You’re right on lg c6 internal(btw can you multi pattern 2023.10 10000 to P5 to test on tv internal), but tested All other on minix u22 xj max incl. your profile 8 CMv2.9 and l1+l2.

P.S attached is pics of hardware info from minix u22 xj max.

Unfortunately, when I convert this pattern to profile 5, it breaks its properties and the pattern no longer works properly.

I suspected also as i tried it in tsmuxer and couldn’t get it to work. Btw is great having you here, you will be great addition in getting coreelec to perfect the system and thanks for all your work.

@R3S3T_9999

Seems taking a while for moderation in the other forum - so will ask here also until that hopefully speeds up:

Could you use your HDFury Vertex utility to capture the AVI InfoFrame.
See page 34 here: https://www.hdfury.com/docs/HDfuryVertex.pdf

For both the Y and N case i.e.

echo Y > /sys/module/hdmitx20/parameters/dovi_tv_led_bt2020

and

echo N > /sys/module/hdmitx20/parameters/dovi_tv_led_bt2020

thanks very much for your testing done.

This toggle is hidden when your display doesn’t support LL_DV.

you’re right. There is a bt709 flag in the signal :(. it’s not displayed on the vertex OSD but it is in the GUI software. AppleTV / x800m2 does not have any flag. Chromecast GTV has a rec709 flag. here some pics: d — ImgBB

thx, will look at a change where we can remove that so have all the permutations to test with - on the plus side modern TV / TV side implementations seem unfazed and look to be doing the right things anyway.

I am still holding out I like the bt.2020 better for my E8, but read your comments on previous testing so will need to look again over more material.
