Been a Long long long time user of XBMC to Kodi on a PC and looking to upgrade my tv to a new 4k prob a LG G4 and have been reading a lot that my pc cannot support Dolby vision and many android boxes have the same problem until i was told by some helpful people in Kodi and avsforums that the AM6+ will. I would like some input before i commit to this device that now supports all formats.

All audio pass through to amp to decode for audio such as atmos and dtsx and all HD audios as i use passthrough on my pc
Will Kodi and AM6+ do a better job at video picture quality than my 12 year old pc ati card running kodi meaning a much better image in SD, HD and 4K.

Will it handle all dvd and Blu-ray formats from old encodes like mpeg2 and avc and other older Bluray and DVD formats
Run all demanding skins in kodi ?
6 have no lip syncs issues as I had a few with my pc and had to fix them using the advance xml.
7 play the most demanding high bitrate 4K Blu-ray untouched rips
Play web-dl Dolby Vison or any other HDR format
9 play hdr10 and hdr plus or do you not need this support.
10 plays SDR AND 1080P better than a pc can in picture quality as I have some SDR videos
VC-1 codec blu rays what happens if there is a problem there and is there a way to fix it

Specifically you can set to suspend instead of power off. For some reason running trim against freshly booted, triggers about 24GB in “writes” to the eMMC, at least according to iostat. Not sure if it’s actually writing when that happens, but if you leave it on/suspend it’ll only trigger incremental writes on subsequent runs.
And yes that 2024 box is nonsense rofl. Ugoos official firmware still 0.5.4.
the firmware on there site is dated 2022-10-14 11:14:00 so i dont know what this 2024 version is. why would they block options if people want to use the box the way they want.
Just wanted to add that I was also previously getting the 12bit DV bug on PM4K with no luck even when switching to smb pathing. With the bug, every DV title, regardless of profile, was playing audio only through PM4K even though they played just fine through PKC or the native kodi player. The latest nightly (which I assume includes the fixes in this test build?) completely fixed the issue and titles that’re played directly through PM4K are now correctly reporting 8bit. TV is an older LG B9 and everything is hooked up through a Denon x3600h. Great work as always @Portisch!
So you all bought from the Play TV seller at aliexpress ? , I noticed they have two versions which is £1 difference one states the Bluetooth the other does not dot understand why they have two up for sale as the title says

I cannot see anything about the flirc be used at all with this device? and can any usb keyboards as i have a Logitech Bluetooth dongle that a Logitech keyboard connects to

also is minix-unit just the same box but not locked, what’s the difference between the locked UGOOS AM6B Plus TV to the none locked minix as the minix doesn’t have encrypted bootloader. ugoos has encrypted bootloader what problems would this cause
depends on how mcuh the minix is as well as the amb6b can be had for £130

From Australia cheapest was the Ugoos store with free shipping. They quoted up to 20 days shipping but it’s just cleared customs here in Melbourne in 5 days.
Because GUI isn’t the same as video. I don’t recall all the details right now, as we looked at it years ago. I’m sure that there’s some discussion about it in the forum also.
