Is there a way to get cpm’s latest internal builds? or at least a tutorial to compile a new version from his github?
Hi to you, since I “hate” complex skins with a plethora of unnecessary options, I prefer simplicity of Estuary, and your “mod-v2” is my preferred everyday skin. Do you plan to update this skin if any future updates to @cmp build are published ?
Would also like to see this. Estuary is still the mvp of skins for me.
Can happen.
I leave for vacation for a few days and come back to 120+ replies. Cue the Community meme with the pizza and burning room.
There were a few bugs on A5 version that were marked as fixed on his GitHub, eg crashing on P8/HDR10+ files.
@jamal2367 can you please make an exception and release the already built tar for an easy update? I don’t think @cpm will mind at all and it would seriously help as he fixed several bugs.
I doubt there will be more updates so this would be hugely beneficial for many users. It would serve as the “final” version so to speak.
If anyone else can post the built tar that would be amazing as well.
Keymap editor addon and bind playerprocessinfo to a key. In latest PM4K can also long press on the default menu and it will also show playerprocessinfo if you use the plextuary cpm or plextuary CE skin.
Recommend A4 build as it has fewer bugs than A5. The edge case that A5 addresses is very rare. Maybe only <3 films - prioritize HDR10+ when there is static DV vs using base HDR layer. Sicario is the only one I can think of.
For buffering, make sure you have cache settings all set. Check Astrotrain guide thread. There is a link to optimal Kodi settings on the bottom including cache.
Do you have a link to that thread? Are those settings for the new chaching code implemented in the 101724 nightly?
I am currently working on an alternative view of the PlayerProcessInfo. (AZR Skin)
Everything combined on one page. This way it will be possible to see something of the video.
I wanted to try that one myself (more or less adapt CPM’s solution from his skin mod), but now I don’t have to))) I liked the design of the fullscreen one, but for some cases where you need to see the video it was not very practical.
Looking forward to you solution!
Well, talk about coming back from a weekend and finding out that a rift to another dimension has opened. Why does this stuff always happens to Kodi/CoreELEC I wonder? Can’t help but be reminded of the situation with monsoons and his Kodi builds that were actually able to support FEL like 1.5 years ago and then he just deleted all his work because of a pretty small argument, and Kodi doesn’t support FEL still… In all seriousness though, you could probably see it coming with cpm as the tensions were escalating lately and he refused to work on a main branch of CE and CE team didn’t hide it or the fact that they currently don’t have the resources to merge cpm’s work themselves. At least cpm didn’t take his repo down so it is at least technically possible to continue something if he actually decides to abandon it.
As @Sholander has mentioned before, this is not true. Kodi on Android does support FEL, as long as you run it on an AM6(B+). By the way, that is the only hardware that monsoon’s build did FEL on Android on (except maybe the other S922X-J boxes).
Link on step 3.
I think the caching changes and stutter are chain/device dependent.
I have never had an issue with stuttering in FEL on any CE nightly so it is not something I worry about. No issue for me on any of the nightlies that cpm build was based on.
I have exact cache settings in that post
Okay, a wrong choice of words. It technically supports it, but is not usable as playback is interrupted in the first 10 to 20 seconds, and that is if you are lucky. It has been like that for over a year and I even installed the latest nightly to check the state of FEL playback just to be sure in my response, and, unsurprisingly, it is still exactly the same.
hm, I was under impression that it was already working fine since a couple of months. I think someone mentioned that you would need to use maven’s build from kodinerds repo. But maybe that’s a false info.
No, it’s not false info, I got it with Maven’s nightly build, and never tried any other. Used it for several days without any problem for testing purpose. Never tried it again after @cpm published his builds.
Now I use only official nightlies and @cpm build, and got rid of Kodi on Android…
This looks great - too bad we can’t have it
Will this build after A5 be shared with all forum members. I know about the conflict with CPM. Some developments are shared here that cannot be used by forum members. Can those who have this compilation after A5 share it?
No shares anymore from cpm.
I know about that. But you still release a development for a skin that is for a build after A5. So you and someone else have this build. Play it for the rest of the forum members too…
