Dune Homatics 4K R Plus IR Remote Not Working

Hello

I have freshly Installed Coreelec on Dune Homatics 4K R Plus.

I copied remote.conf to Configfiles but the IR remote is not working.

Any ideas?

But IR remote not working.

Maybe because the “regular” homatics does not have IR receiver ?

I have the Dune homatics version. but IR remote not working atm

Does your remote.cfg starts with this; “#amlogic NEC remote HOMATICS BOX R 4K PLUS”

I use it on a Dune Premier HD Pro (also a R Plus variant), and it works just fine for me with IR with a CE-NG build.

I have the file placed in the root of the storage.

My Dune HD Homatics 4K R Plus IR remote works. I just had to copy the remote.conf file inside the .config folder in storage.

However I have noticed a problem. About the central button (the one used to open files). Before, in NE CoreElec 21.3 I used the long press of that central button to access the extra menu options about the file and that long press doesn’t work anymore. I have found that the button left to the power button does that same function of open menus, but using the long press on the central button is more practical and I am used to it.

What is that remote you are talking about? There is no button “left” of the power button on a B21/B25 (Dune) Homatics remote. The long press on the central button still works for me with the B21/B25 using the correct remote.conf file, placed in the ROOT of the USB storage, not in .config folder.

I meant my other “left”, that is the “right”, power button is the top left button, this one I was talking about is the top right button. A bit of dislexia here.

My remote is the B25. I have had my remote.conf file in the .config file of the storage partition for a year and a half (I was using ne CE 21.3). When I was forced to update to no CE 22.0.alpha 3 I copied the remote.conf file to the .config folder too.

Moving now remote.conf to the root of the storage partition. Let’s see if it works too and if it works better.

And it doesn’t work. So back to the .config folder.

I reply to myself.
I discovered the reason for my remote not working properly. As I said, it worked perfectly under CE 21.3, but to work properly on CE 22 it is necessary to update the remote.conf file to its last version, here: remotes/AmRemote/Homatics Box R 4K plus at master · CoreELEC/remotes · GitHub

Why were you forced to update to CE 22 I wonder?

I commited the sin of booting into Android after weeks of not doing so, and it launched a forced update to Android 14. After reseting the update failed, it bricked my device and after getting help in this forum about how to unbrick my device I had to install CE 22 because no (new order) is the only kernel that boots on Dune HD Homatics after that update.

CE 22 alpha 3 is working well, so no complains there.

Well, as I have all my SEI804 boxes currently on the latest V14 version (7475), and booting into CE-NG every day, it should not be a V14 issue that forces one to use CE-NO.

I am happy it is working for you. Not my case here. You can read my posts in the link that appears in the previous post.
The OTA update failed, my box got bricked. And after recovering and installing that version, the only CE that booted was the 22 alpha 3 no version. I tried the others.

If you didn’t use the AmLogic burn software, a computer, and an image file (.img), you didn’t recover the device in the correct way, maybe that is why you can’t use CE-NG now. But if you are happy with CE-NO, that is just fine of course

I don’t have a Dolby Video capable Television (main reason to use ng kernel). I intend to buy one but dunno when (not exactly rich here).
And I need to buy a male USB to male USB cable. And learn how to use that burning tool and get the correct image to burn.
So, if the ocassion arises, I will ask for help here.

What exactly do you consider rich?

Hisense 4K Dolby Vision TVs are $200-$400 for 43”-65” on Amazon (*for US buyers)
