@vpeter Can you please find me Dovi Compatible for Ugoos AM6+ 922
I forgot to mention for CE NO as NG dovi does not work with NO
The patched dovi.ko that is linked in the OP works with both the AM6B+ and the AM9 Pro.
I just upgraded my Ugoos AM6B from CE 21 to CE 22 (nightly version 20260529 generic) using a clean install. Installation was done booting from a fresh SD card, then flashed to eMMC with cemmc util - clearing the flash beforehand. The dovi.ko I used is the one linked in the first post of the FEL-NO thread.
While watching a Dolby Vision movie (Nobody 2) I experienced a kernel panic following a prompt device reboot. It was just over an hour into the movie when the crash happened. Unfortunately the debug logging was not enabled at the time and I could just recover the ramoops log: https://paste.coreelec.org/BuffaloRemover
Iāll try to reproduce this with debug logging enabled to gather more logs - I believe this is the second crash I have experienced, the first time was another DV movie (Sisu) but I didnāt investigate at that time because it was super late and the crash happened during the credits. I canāt reproduce the crashes by playing the same part of the movie again, the only thing both crashes have in common is that they occurred after 1 hour of playback. Both movies are DV Profile 7 FEL. Is there anything else I can do to get better debug information?
Box is a 2021 Ugoos AM6B running firmware 0.5.4, Dolby Vision movies ran great on CE 21.3 before.
Peripheral Info:
- LG C8 OLED TV
- Onkyo TX-NR676E Receiver
- Network connectivity with GBit Ethernet
I had the same thing. Happened twice till now. Also with the AM6b+
Try with this dovi.ko: removed
A post was merged into an existing topic: Amlogic-NO discussion
Thanks, Iāll give it a try. However, the system reports a kernel mismatch:
vermagic: 5.15.170-android14-11-g7f9c2d1e4b68-dirty
current kernel: 5.15.196 (latest build 20260601)
Despite that, it initializes correctly.
The Dolby Vision (FEL) movies I tested are working great so far.
One difference I noticed is that the video information now reports the pixel format as 8-bit RGB, whereas with the original DOVI patch it was reported as 10-bit RGB. As far as I know, RGB tunneling uses an 8-bit RGB signal, so this seems to indicate that it is working correctly now.
So far, everything is working very well, and both layers remain synchronized without any dropped frames in FEL Dolby Vision content.
Is it a new one? Same size, same 2.6. I am irritated.
It is new one. Same size as before but maybe fix the problem. Let us know.
Oh interesting, I will try this new one on the am9 pro and see if it fixes my black dv screen bug because the player was also sending 4:4:4 10 bit yuv in tv-led without my patch in the vsvdb.
I will report back.
is this module compatible with other boxes?
LE: Works on my homatics 4k+
The module is compatible with any DV licensed boxes that CE-NO supports. It will not work with other non CE distributions like LE. Thatās a self-imposed limitation of LEās decision to use mainline Linux
I tried the new dovi.ko file and I still crash in dv playback sometimes. It is hard to say what causes it as it can be fine for a while and then it crashes. I skip in files often to test the stability, I did not watch a movie without touching the skipping yet. When it crashes, itās often when I start a video, it plays for 1 second then crashes and reboot. I will try to get a debug log.
There is used ISA by dv playing (ISA is used by remote services) ? ISA is broken also in todays build. Please roll back of ISA to version from May. Thx
Please upload the crash log.
Tried 0525, high-bitrate Fel is smooth, seamless branch support is perfect, subtitle synchronization, audio synchronization, iQIYI DV wonāt freeze. Unfortunately, the color of PGS subtitles is still wrong.Subtitle switching, display has a delay. No memory playback, after stopping playback, it can only start from the beginning. External fancy PGS subtitles, some subtitles are delayed.Embedded fancy subtitles are no problem, the box is homatics,
Do you mean this new driver can be installed on the 928 but does not support dual-layer functionality?
Thereās no need to always ask, try it yourself, itās very simple, and then report your test results for others to use as a reference.
