s905x2-k and s905x2-j share the same code g12 like s922x-j ，under tested both s905x2-k and s905x2-j can support fel.
but cannot support cmv4 ,only cmv2.7
some chinese pro use x96 max.replace s905x2 with s905x2-k，the machine can play fel.s905x2-k在ce下也是可以双层杜比视界的【coreelec吧】_百度贴吧 that’s really awsome

I feel like we’re probably heading towards devices with compatible -j or -k devices that don’t support Dolby Vision in Android and a big wink to the consumer about CoreELEC.

Desoldering a BGA chip like that is not easy, but at the same time it is not hard. A heat gun, flux, and solder paste would make short work of that.
