Fire TV 2nd gen Cube (s922z)

apologies, my intent was not to be disrepsectful.

my inital though it was all those were CE-based, hence the genuine ask.

Do you mean on a Fire Cube 2?

See 1st post on this thread.

PS7690/4716, is there any chance to root?

No, there’s only system user for firmware that new. That won’t boot CE.

I see someone ask if could try to downgrade firmware after get system user, but seems no significant progress yet.

Anti-rollback is enabled, downgrading the bootloader to a version that can be unlocked would hard brick the device. An unlock for PS7652 or newer firmware requires a new root exploit + new bootloader exploit.

Hey everyone, quick question. I’ve got a Fire TV 2nd Gen. I’m pretty sure I can’t downgrade the firmware anymore because I probably messed it up before. Right now, my only option is to swap the SOC over to a spare UGOOS board that doesn’t have one. Will this fix my broken UGOOS and let it decode FEL smoothly like it did before? Thanks a lot!

Already asked and answered

Cube 2 still seems like such an underrated, underappreciated (and IMHO better) Ugoos AM6B+ alternative :). Maybe preaching to the choir here… just did a video to show anyone hesitant to try rooting that it’s now pretty easy:

Better than AM6B+

Any plans on a guide to update from 21.3 to the new 22 builds? assuming they work?

they were already updated for 22, you’re just looking in the wrong place.
