[Guide] S922X-J (Ugoos AM6b+) CoreELEC installation and FAQs

X90J don’t have tv-led

The latest Kodi 21.1 should have accelerate VC-1, upgrade your install.

Are you sure about that? Previous year model got it after an update (x900h)

@gregeeh check your hdmi input settings from the TV settings. It needs to be enabled I believe.

sorry my mistake…

Is this (/storage/.config) where the dovi.ko file is supposed to end up? Because I’m not seeing it there, but I don’t know if, in case of a regular installation, it’s moved somewhere else on reboot, once placed there.

I have it in the root of the USB flash drive I used to installe CoreELEC but I don’t see Dolby Vision options anywhere (checked the link posted above). Do they appear only when connected to DV capable display (I’m using a computer monitor to setup before connecting to TV)?

Yes, they won’t show up otherwise.

Ok. But if the installation procedure went correctly, should I have found the dovi.ko file in the /storage/.config directory?

Because it wasn’t there.

I put it in /storage/ and it remains there.

Sorry I should have phrased my question better.

After I have manually placed it there it definitely stays there.

My question was:

Since I had the dovi.ko file placed in the install media at root level, as per the instructions in this guide, should I have found it in /storage/.config if all went well? Because when I went looking it wasn’t there.

No, it stays where you put it.

I hope @Astrotrain can clarify my doubt, as I don’t know how else to explain it. I followed the guide but the dovi.ko file did not end up in /storage/.config. I manually put it there and I want to be sure that that’s what I am supposed to do/nothing when wrong during initial installation.

Sounds correct to me. You can put it in the root with the dtb file and test it out.

Did you install to emmc? In that case the file will be under /flash and not /storage/.config

Dovi.ko doesn’t get installed. You’re putting it in the wrong place. Use File Manager to copy it from where you have it, to the correct storage.

Run this command in SSH console and you should see the path of used module.

journalctl -l | grep -i dovi

@Flynn84 had the right answer. Yes, I did install to emmc and the file already was under /flash. I will remove it from /storage/.config, as it’s not needed, I suppose.

One extra question (and I have been searching for half an hour about it, with not much luck): I installed rclone through entware, I now need to create a system service for it. Where do the service configuration file must be placed in the directory structure of an emmc install?

I got this, btw
