Help, support CPM build

You can try changing the audio settings on the C3 from bitstream to pcm but probably best to Kodi process the audio.

Anyone notice a significant difference on the VSDB min max settings?

I was playing around with luminance values close to my display capabilities (900ish) and then tried to bump the high end up the 10,000 nits out of curiosity.

Picture looked basically the same.

Edit: 1-96 nit range looks really washed out so this definitely effects things.

Won’t your display tone map anny material beyond its limit anyway?

New CPM Update (A4)

Skin Update of AZR from me coming later.

if you by any chance want to include title especially season and EPISODE NUMBER I would be very very very happy!!

getting some kind of crazy… to see it I need 10 clicks or so, in the line it also shows ‘playing now’ - completely useless I know that, and ‘feature ends xxxx’ - also useless cause its already on the right side of the osd overlay… as my osd is hiding after 3 seconds I need 3 or 4 attempts to see the episode number… :frowning:

Hey guys, does anybody else got problem with sdr > DV . Few times per episode the screen goes black for a second and then just dv logo pops out and stream continues.

Great update, as usual
Also great new update for “skin.cpm.estuary.A4”. Finally a new icon for “PlayerDebugInfo” for convenient remote control use, and surprisingly A/V bitrate is shown for mkv files :grinning:
One question, what the 4 additional bars, under CPU info stand for, as I don’t see any explanation? Or should I see this, but somehow don’t…?

audio.queue.level , audio.queue.data.level , video.queue.level , video.queue.data.level

Tnx, I see now why there is no explanation. Would it be to much to separate them, and put some abbreviation in front, like AudQueLev or somthing similar?
Maybe keep just 2 in the middle, since first and last are always on maximum…

If anybody else encounters the same issue. Lowered Kodi resolution from 4k to 1080p seems did the trick for me. So far 3 episodes and no DV drops.

@cpm, since I don’t play .mp4 and .ts files often, I tried today to play some locally (SD Disk connected to USB 3.0 on my AM6B+), but HDR(10) to DV conversion does not work. In fact when any option of HDR to DV conversion is enabled, the videos do not start at all, or start with a pause of over one minute, or only sound starts with black screen which triggers DV logo on LG TV. Same behavior is with A3.1 and A4 versions.
All HDR(10) .mkv files convert to DV without any problem and start instantly.

Is this only on my system, or has anybody else similar behavior with .mp4 & .ts videos?

Edit: updating to A4.1 version fixed everything, all working OK.

What does A4 do differently from A3? Is there somewhere else I need to be looking to see what changes the new releases include?

Is this with A4.1 ?

I don’t really have many HDR10 mp4 only calibration material that all worked fine, also SDR to DV mp4 worked ok for me, I also don’t have any .ts in HDR10.

mkv looks like the way to go, I have almost always just converted to that.

A4.1 fixed issue with 60Hz HDR10 > DV, so maybe can help here also - there is a slight penalty that all DV will start about 0.5 sec slower (for me at least), probably have a way of mitigating that if I feel the need.

As part of my winding down from doing these builds I will not be looking much into corner cases like this myself.

Not much is changing - if you have a stable version then I would just go with that.

Typically they are based on the latest CE heads, so any changes there you want should be included. Otherwise just more minor changes, mainly being around the UI player process and exposing information.

Did not try yet 4.1, will tonight.
Samples that you can try that don’t work for me are here
4K (UltraHD) Formats → samples no. 4, 5 and 6.
I have my UI set to 3840x2160/59,95; will try to change to other values to see if that has any effect.
And, since 60Hz HDR10 is so rare, I’d rather have faster start, but that’s only me

just pulled down 4. (HDR HEVC 10-bit BT.2020 24fps) Exodus Sample.mp4
works fine, so for me it either just works ok or that fix also needed for that and probably others.

General comment for all - if there is trouble with the audio stream and possibly subtitle and the queues start having big drops then will lose stream and see the video blank and double trouble for DV.

Can keep an eye on the queues in Player Process bottom right can identify more easily when things start going straying out of sync.

OK, updated to A4.1 which fixed everything; all my HDR10(10+) videos and test files (.mp4, .ts and .webm formats) convert to DV as expected. Since I have 1.6sec pause for screen res/freq change, don’t really feel 0.5 sec starting delay.

Anyway we can map toggles to a button for SDR → DV via the VS10 engine? I find some content works really well with this while others don’t, but it’s a bit of a pain turning it on and off…

Yeah, a way to toggle various options while watching , even if it required pausing, would be great. Going all the way out and to settings, just to compare is indeed a bit if a pain.

Not such a simple case as need to switch in and out of DV InfoFrame and have the other HDMI setting inline like 8bit / 12bit and RGB / YUV
Plus would it work in all combos ok.

Not something I am looking to do, but if someone wants to have a go can start by reading up on the commands in the original thread for VS10, that semi worked in switching things on the fly.

Oh and it probably also depends on how the Display switches some maybe better/more tollerant than others.
