Help, support CPM build

Ok something is setting hdr10_data back to 0 in the FEL case.

Once playing you can issue this command:

echo 1 > /sys/module/amdolby_vision/parameters/dolby_vision_hdr_inject

Seem to stick after doing this again, let me know if it sticks for you or resets again later.

Will think about what is blanking the hdr10_data in this case.

Hey everyone, where can I find a Little log file from which I can read the changes / improvements of the new CPM builds? Yesterday evening I updated the CPM a2 to a3.1 ā€¦

On github I couldnā€˜t find anythingā€¦

I hope I ask after a log file which perhaps exists

OK I found the issue, for EL layer on setup of the decoder is again wipe the hdr10_data.

Will make a change and put in for the next release.

The command indeed correctly sets the HDR InfoFrame. I can immediately see the image change as well. Value seems to stick too.

Thank you! Glad it is possible to fix.

If I seek through the video by skipping chapters for example the hdr10_data is reset back to 0 again. Not sure if this is relevant for your fix.

Hello @cpm I am traveling and just saw your post but noticed that you already found the problem and a solution. Great.

I have exactly the same problem with DV P7 FEL movies-UGOOS AM6B+. Have choppy playback if I resumed the movie (not start it from 0:00) or skip within the movie.

does it happen also after seeking back?

Only if I start them from 0:00 I donā€™t have choppy playback. In all other cases I have choppy playback as jinior described.

Me too, I reported my findings regarding this at the CE 21.1.1-ng thread.

Hereā€™s what I found out for latest stable build: CoreELEC 21.1-Omega Amlogic-ng Discussion - #148 by unmoved6125

In addition to this, the latest nightly build has perfect playback (including FF/RW) when opening FEL moviesā€™ BDMV/ISO via the index file or the mpls file. You might want to try that and see as well.

I tried the latest nightly build CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.1.1-Omega_nightly_20241007-Generic.img.
No improvement, I have choppy playback with DV P7 FEL movies.

I have the same issue. Let me know if you find a solution

hi how can I get the latest nightly if Iā€™m running on cpm 3.1 in the moment. auto update is off, I thought thatā€™s a must?

I want the cpm build, so latest lightly and then updating to 3.1 again was my idea. stupid? how?
many thanks!!!

Thatā€™s not useful at all. You can either run the latest nightly or the CPM 3.1 build.

Installing the latest nightly and then CPM 3.1 again will just get you in the same situation as before you started.

You can switch between builds by placing the corresponding .tar file in the updates folder and rebooting.

ah OK thanks! all the time I thought the cpm tar file is some kind of specific upgrade to some filesā€¦ the original installation file I wrote on an USB stick was more then 300mb?

anyway! Great! many thanks!! do you know how I get the nightly tar file? never saw one here in the forum?

I made an mistake I did not switch to latest stable before I installed cpm. so maybe I will do that sometime. for now I cannot find any issue with my setup

It doesnā€™t really matter if you first went to stable. A .tar is is basically a complete release except that you canā€™t use it to write an image from it to start from scratch. It will even update your dtb if necessary.

The only difference between an official nightly and the CPM builds is that the nightlies will auto-update (if enabled) and the CPM builds need to be updated manually.

Nightlies can be downloaded by clicking on the download icon at the top right of the forum page.

gona give a try ce20 soon

Iā€™d suggest you first try to update your -ng version with CPM A.31 build, discussed here as it has more options to manipulate HDR to DV files, which are not present in official builds.

would you suggest a clean install?
