There was a YouTube video shared by the Homatics Telegram group admin that indicated the device is indeed S905X5-K. It’s since been taken down. I’d fully expect a flagship Homatics device to have DV support so J/K licensing for sure. The real question in regards to CoreELEC is whether SEI unlock the bootloader.
I really hope it won’t be locked. While I seldom ever leave CE, the Ugoos UI is absolutely horrible. I much prefer Homatics’ clean ATV.
They’ve now updated the image on www.androidtv-guide.com, as well as added the Homatics Box 4K Plus V3. Fortunately I plan to put it in the closet, because I’m not sure what they thought of with this Commodore-like box.
depending on price can be interesting, but specs are little worse than AM9P, less RAM and less storage, maybe no big deal but depending on price, about Ugoos UI, half agreed, can be solved with installing Projectivy launcher which I’ve done on all Android TV players, or install slimboxtv firmware when it arrives as I run it on AM6B+ to get ATV UI.
The Homatics 4K Pro is spec’ed to have exactly the same RAM (4GB DDR5) and same flash storage (64GB). Even the GPU is the same.
The main differences might be the USB ports (not very interesting for my needs), and possibly a locked bootloader, which would make it a no-go. On the other hand, Homatics’ are certified products.
aha ok I went with your 4K Plus V3 link with S905X5 and ofc the specs is enough for CoreELEC, I wouldn’t pay that much more for 1GB extra RAM and 64GB storage.
The BuzzTV G series is almost identical, but using the exact same firmware. That one is locked for CE usage, I expect there will be no difference with the Homatics one.
