Homatics Box R 4K Plus

That’s what we (the customers) are simply because it’s cheaper from the manufacturer perspective and also because it drastically reduces the TTM (Time To Market).

I don’t mind being a betatester for projects like CoreELEC because they work for free and if they can invest boatloads of their time, knowledge and efforts, I can certainly spend some time of my own to help them when I can.

I certainly do not want to be a beta tester for something I paid! I pay to get a final and tested product, not to also invest my own time to finish their work for them, without any benefit other than “don’t complain, it finally works, well almost…”.

@jamal2367 Hi :slight_smile:
I can’t send you a DM, or I can’t find the place to do it (normally I have a sufficient level to be able to do it in theory).

Now that the NO version of CoreElec is starting to become usable on the Homatics R 4k Plus with Android TV 14, do you think it would be possible for you to update your “Reboot to CoreElec” application so that it works again?

Or have you completely abandoned support for this box?

A big thank you in advance

When you click on poster’s name, like I did on yours, you don’t get the blue box with Message option?

Thanks for your answer.

Unfortunately not, it would have been too easy and I would have already found the option :stuck_out_tongue:

Yet it seems that I meet the conditions to be at level 1 (see level 2) and be able to send PMs…

I don’t really understand the system ^^

My profil :

Since I identified Jamal in my message on this topic, maybe he will see it

I also don’t get any option to send PMs despite being eligible as per the Level 1 conditions, the same as @myst13 and many others I would assume.

I think that’s not the problem. In ATV14 you can’t turn on wireless debugging. Don’t know why.The option is there, but it’s not possible to turn it on. So “Reboot to coreELEC” is not able to do his job. Shizuku also.
Long story short, it’s too much magic :sparkles: for Jamal.

ADB USB debugging is needed you mean ?
Not wireless.
I didn’t try yet.

EDIT : no problem to active USB debugging.
But indeed the wireless debugging does not activate. I don’t think it’s this option that needs to be activated to make Reboot to CoreElec functional…

Thanks.

Does the toothpick method still work on the Newer ATV14+NO?!, if yes then no need for APK-APPs/adb enabling settings.

hey there, I’m struggling to downgrade my Dune Homatics using that tool which was posted some time ago here. My device goes through some USB something Mode to Fastboot and reboots later, it’s not getting recognized by laptop in any moment. Should the AC adapter be plugged while pushing a button below USB port and then I need to plug the cable to my laptop, or should it be visible in the tool without any charger? Unluckily that guide in .pdf doesnt explain much about getting into that flashing mode.

It’s off topic here, but before you flash, need start the tool, then plug the cable to the box.
No need ac plug.
Use the usb3 port.

Yes, of course using a thin object to reach the recovery/fastboot button to access CoreElec still works.

I wanted the app to reboot into CoreElec when we are on the Android TV interface, but I actually forgot that it was enough to restart the box (by pressing and holding the power button on the remote) with the USB stick inside for it to reboot primarily and automatically into CoreElec… :innocent:

Hi everyone,
I am new here, I am planning to purchase Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus to play mostly DV P7 FEL remux on LG G2 Oled TV.

In some post it was mentioned that this Dune HD Homatics device have fake TV-led issue. Is it still true or is it already fixed in CE Kodi?

Hi @frodo19
Do you mind sending me dmesg of device boot and failed playback?

Still having trouble? I downgraded from ATV14 to ATV11 today. Worked.

DuneHD Box R is a fantastic device and I’m incredibly happy with it but be careful. If the AndroidTV version is BEFORE 14 (ie: 11) then CE-NG is perfect and you’ll be happy.

If the AndroidTV is 14 then you’ll face a bit of trouble. To achieve what you want, you’ll be forced to manually downgrade the ATV firmware, see here Homatics Box R 4K Plus - #5532 by clarkss12

disclaimer: I prevented any ATV update on my box from day 1 (ie: no internet access) so I’ve not faced the issues with ATV14 and did not have to downgrade. I did not verify this tutorial. Don’t shoot the messenger

Just got a DuneHD Box R. So far so good!
Quick question, for the “Convert Dolby Vision for compatibility” setting, what should this be set to? Default (8.1) or Lossless?

The box is hooked up to my Denon AVR which is connected to a Sony X90K.

Edit: Also, is the dovi.ko file from CE-NG Dolby Vision (+FEL) for DV-licensed SOCs (s905x2, s922x/z, s905x4) still needed or is it included in the CE-NG 20.5 nightly build?

Yes, it will always be required that you copy that dovi.ko for CE-NG, and will never be included with any official CE builds.

Curious, is that the case w/NE and NO as well? Or really just NO w/CE22+ right?

Thanks! As for the “Convert Dolby Vision for compatibility” setting, what should this be set to? Default (8.1) or Lossless?

It depends what ATV version the R 4K Plus is running. The ATV11/12 dovi.ko from the eMMC is compatible with CE-NE, ATV14 with CE-NO, ATV9/10 with CE-NG.

If the ATV Linux kernel version is different than the CE version you want to run, the dovi.ko will need to be copied over. No CE releases ever included a dovi.ko.

Lossess if you want DV FEL playback.
