Homatics Box R 4K Plus

No.
You need copy sc2_s905x4_sei_smb_280.dtb
then rename it.

Nightly works now thanks for the tip sc2_s905x4_sei_smb_280.dtb, but it is a bit different than with A12 as soon as it says USB Hot Mode then release the reset button then it boots otherwise it repeats itself constantly and nothing happens

Did you receive that update over-the-air? Or did you use a ZIP file? And which ATV 14 build number do you have now?

As I said, no issue here.
Reboot to coreelec works, or when once intalled the CE, just simple reboot from ATV 14, and then CE will boot quickly.

How do I enter Android TV as the default system, so that when I turn on the “Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus” it enters Android TV and if I want to use CoreELEC, I use “Reboot to CoreELEC”?

Or do I need to disconnect the “USB Flash Drive” with CoreELEC installed every time I want to use Android TV?

I don’t think you can default boot to Android (but it should be possible I guess by modifying the bootloader config).

You have a reboot to eMMC (= android) button in Kodi power menu.

Note that it does not appear in -NG if you’re still on Android 12, but you can patch the skin on NG if you want it (see Reboot to eMMC/NAND is missing from Estuary Skin - #4 by fthiery)

You seem to make the R Plus powerless? If you would not, the R Plus would stay in Android TV and there would be no need to remove the USB storage.
You just have to go back to Android TV when finished with CE, and than put it to sleep.

Sorry if this has been addressed (couldn’t find it via search)… is it possible to permanently turn off the annoying bright LED light on front of the Homatics box? When using Android, I have it disabled in settings & it works… but under CE, it stays lit up.

There is a extra addon in CE repo for the LEDs.

I could not “turn off” the Android TV, but put it in sleep mode.
But the quality of the electrical power where I live is complicated.
The electricity goes out frequently, and the “Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus” turns off and on by itself, entering CoreELEC again.

I think I’ll leave the “USB Flash Drive” with the CoreELEC disconnected, and when I want to use the CoreELEC, I’ll connect it and restart the Android TV for the “Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus” to boot into the CoreELEC.

Wonderful, thanks … was driving me nuts in a darkened home theater .

On the latest NE nightly, on 4k resolution, the gui takes only a quarter of the screen, it’s like the gui is 1920x1080 and is not scaled to 2160p. Is it just me? Tried both with gui scaling disabled and enabled.

By the way - is it possible to switch to CE NG and keep all the settings somehow? Maybe by exporting them and importing on NG.

Are there any benefits on staying with NE?
I think NE was the recommended version when I bought the box (black dune version) a few years ago, so I installed the nightly then and stayed on NE nightlies ever since. But maybe now the switch to NG or NO is recommended. Let’s say that DV FEL is not a critical requirement now.

My Homatics Box is in the mail and I’ve been reading up through this topic, but just out of curiousity, what are the advantages to boot directly to CE, instead of doing in via Android TV?

Sorry if this has been mentioned here already, but it’s a lot to read

Advantage is “time”
To boot directly to CE-Kodi it takes about 20sec; to boot via Android it takes about 100+sec.

hm, I found this thread and I thought this should be an easy fix for my “quarter screen gui at 2160p resolution” problem. So I edited the “guisettings.xml” file, using winscp program on windows though, and deleted the < resolutions> part of the file (no space after “<”). Maybe I did something wrong or this solution doesn’t work for me, but the gui is still displayed in the first quarter of the screen on 2160p resolution. Also I think I may have lost the 2160p @ 60hz option in the system>display options, in the process…

If someone had and solved this issue, any help and suggestions are appreciated  or I’ll just try to install NG

Thanks, I tried the commands, but the gui is still at a quarter of the screen. Video plays fullscreen though. I’m on CE NE currently

Oh, then it may not be the same issue.

The problem is that the interface is not 4K compatible
