On the first look there seem to be no logs, because I had to unplug the box from the mains to make it work again.
But, I may be mistaken. I will check again in the evening and get back.
In the mean time, If you have any suggestion on what to try or anybody had heard of similar issue, it will be highly appreciated 
Hi does anyone know if I could use the Homatics box R 4K plus with standard android tv and google store Kodi download, to play back movies files (4K HDR and DV) from an NTFS USB thumb/hdd and is it stable and working well?
I am looking to set up a mate, so need the path to least headache and effort+ I think he may want to use amazon prime app to watch TV shows.

Okay, I’ve been going through the whole topic, but I’m struggling to find which version of Coreelec I should be using on my Homatics 4K Plus box, if I want to be able to watch HDR movies. Im on the following Android TV versions and Homatics firmware:
Android version: 12
Kernel 5.4.242-ab5221
OS-build: STTC.220803.001.5221 release-keys
Box R 4K Plus SW version: V12.8.5221
I see in the guide that I should be on firmware 5310, but I can’t find that anywhere. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction?
On that android version , You can install all available CE versions , but for Your usage CE-NE will be more than enough

Got my Homatics box R4K plus box from aliexpress/China today, comes with
Android 14 pre installed (v14.8.1782), Kernel 5.15.137, Android TV OS Build UKG3.240822.001.1782 
Tried latest nightly builds with NE and NG and renaming to dtb.img, pin reset and then plug in and restart box with both usb 2 and 3 ports but no luck, I take it have to go back to android 11 or 12?
CE should also work with ATV 14. I’ve had it running (although I switched back to ATV 12 due to other issues).
You could try to install this APK:
Then enable ADB Debugging in the Developer Options and choose First time install in that app.

thanks will give that a try later on, yeah was a bit confused since others suggested it was now ok with ATV14. Tried 3 different usb sticks and in the 2.0 and 3.0 ports with different builds and it kept saying usb burning and restarting but not booting into CE at all.
I’m running the latest beta ATV 14 v14.8.2463 on my Dune Homatics R 4K Plus and everything so far seems to work fine.
I also have trouble booting it, if I switch the box off and back on it just boot loops for 3 or 4 times then boots perfectly fine and is rock solid until the next time I reboot when it loops 3 or 4 times and then boots fine. This behaviour only started about 6 or so nightlies ago, so i’m not sure if it’s a CoreELEC issue or my USB stick is just getting old, I may try a new one to test.

With atv14 installed you can’t use NE. Try NG or NO .

-Installed reboot to CE app in android 14 with those links
-Enabled USB debugged/ADB debugging in developer options
-Ran reboot to CE with first time boot option and with NG CE nightly build version and its booted fine, tested few times.

Yes I have this issue also although early days testing, If I am in CE (NG nightly build) and I restart in kodi with reboot from eMMC/NAND to get back into ATV14 it sometimes loops with the homatic’s coloured house logos but if I disconnect with the power plug and restart usually its fine or one the 2nd attempt it then loads back into AT14.
Actually not sure if reboot from eMMC/NAND from CE kodi menu is the right way to get back into ATV14.
Edited: It was my user error, I had the USB stick with DV/Video test files on the other usb port, soon as I removed it and left the USB with CE on it, it boots fine. Must have got confused which usb drive to boot off, so try disconnecting any usb flash or hdds or trying the other usb port and retry.
I use the G10S Pro remotes on my CE NG devices, I have one AM6B+ and three Homatics, using the usb dongle (2.4GHz) and I noticed that on all Homatics boxes under CoreElec the remote is sometimes not responsive, not responding to input directly and it jumps through the UI if you know what I mean, sometimes one click can be two or more, this does not happen under Android at all and on AM6B+ it’s working great on CE and Android.
any idea why it behaves like that?
EDIT: the solution is to use a usb mini hub and connect the remote usb dongle to it and it will work fine, why I don’t know haha.
I’m going stir crazy. I have the Homatics R 4K Plus box and ever since I’m on the CE Omega version, I have a stutter whenever I have the subtitles enabled. I have tried to change resolutions, with or without DV etc. but I am unable to get a fully smooth playing video. It’s on DV, 4K, 1080p formats.
I have been going back to Nexus, and there the stutter isn’t present, but that version gives me a whole lot of other problems. Ever since I got this box, I have had trouble.
I’m on Omega 21.2 stable. I have tried all the nightlies too, but no change. I’m on ATV 12 as well.
Any ideas or people who have the same issue?
I was using a Nokia 8010 with CoreElec 21.2 NE version.
It plays all video and audio formats well, but the picture is very juddery.
I switched to CoreElec 21.2 NG version, and the judder has completely disappeared. The picture was spectacular, but… It no longer plays Dolby Vision files.
Although the picture has improved significantly, I’d like to enjoy Dolby Vision content again.
Can anyone help me?

@jaymu you need to install 21.2 ng as well. 21.2 NE is broken and won’t be fixed…

Hi, I have the problem with my homatics box. About a year ago I tried this box for the first time and according to the instructions I made COREELEC there. I know that the process back then was that I wrote the serial number of the box on the telegram group and it was as if it was unlocked for me to install coreelec. I want to ask, is it still necessary to flash the serial number in some way for everything to work? I currently bought a new box for the other room and I can’t create a bootable USB on it via USB using the same process. Instead of the Coreelec sign, recovery mode keeps popping up and it doesn’t want to boot with USB… Is it a problem with the new Android? I had an old Android on the old box. I also tried looking at the developer settings, I unchecked everything I could there but it seemed like it didn’t want to boot from the disk. I tried the same USB that works on the other box and still no change… Can someone please help me? Thanks
That part about the serial and unlocking is total nonsense, there is no need to share a serial of the device to get CE working. Just look for the correct instructions to get things going with CE.
