CE, just mentioned that Android slide show after ~1h of movie to point out that this device seems to have some pretty bad issues. However, I got the device updated to ATV 14 and running CE-NO at the moment and finally it seems that all functionality is there. Skipping fe. between chapters on a movie does make the sound go away for some seconds, but that is the only finding thus far.
All this hassle just so that the rest of the family can watch movies in full quality, as I still use discs…
II’m on CE-NG , no issues …
And maybe , like frodo advised , trying another USB wouldnt be bad idea , just to eliminate source off problem
If you mean installing CE to a different USB -media, I already tried three. Kingston, Verbatim and Sandisk. The last one is noticeably faster than the previous two, so I could buy a fast Samsung usb-media I guess, but as everything seems to be ok now, I’m not so sure I have the interest to continue tinkering.
While I used the CE-NG, subtitles on dolby vision movies were dark gray, so there might have been some incompatibility regarding dolby vision blob which caused the box to freeze after like 10 minutes.
Oh, there is one more issue I forgot. This is probably a CE-NO thing more than Homatics issue, but subtitles are always off by default, even if I select the save this preference for all media etc. option while activating them.
I just got the Homatics Box. I tested it on an LG TV and was able to set it up successfully.
However, now that I am at home samsung TV, the screen turns completely white when I plug it in, and I don’t know why. I even did a fresh install of latest NG and NE build on the USB stick, but the screen still turns white when the Homatics Box starts up from the USB.(i hear CoreELEC sound true my speakers)
I tried different builds, different monitors, and different HDMI cables, all to no avail.( all still white screen)
I enabled SSH in the config file so I could change some settings, but that was also to no avail. I still have a white screen. I asked an AI for help as well, but it couldn’t help me any further.
The Homatics Box works perfectly with Android btw
It is something about resolution and DTB compatibility I think.
For me it helped to remove the resolution.ini from the root of the USB pendrive. Plug the pendrive in a computer and remove the file or:
Access box with SSH as root
Deleted the resolution.ini with the following commands:
mount -o remount,rw /flash
cd /flash
rm resolution.ini
reboot
After reboot the resolution.ini is created again.
Thanks for the response.
I tried both methods with the version CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.2-Omega_nightly_20250929-Generic.img.gz, but it was still to no avail. I still have a full white screen.
The version that does work, but is buggy and crashes a lot, is this one: Amlogic-no.aarch64-22.0-Piers_nightly_20250929-Generic.img. However, from my understanding, we should not be using version 22 with our chipset
I’m using NO and it is the most stable (by far) of what releases I tried on this box. All of the others were unusable because of crashing or playback issues.
Ok, I need some help again ![]()
I forgot to change update to manual and I got the latest nightly. I understand that these might have some bugs, but what happened is that it broke the dolby vision. After a reboot everything went green and the picture went to completely black for a couple of seconds every now and then. I was able to restore the ce ui to normal by playing a dolby vision movie (which played without issues) for a while. But now when I try to play a movie that has dolby vision, picture is green/purple mess. I’m using the dovi.ko for NO provided earlier in this thread.
Do you not have a backup tar file?,go to download archive and reinstall older nightly that was working.
When testing nightly it is highly recommend to make a backup after every nightly, or at least once ,when you are up and running and all is good.,save in /storage/, and also remote on backup drive ,or desktop directory.
Check if your LG has Deep Color switched on for the HDMI port you connecting your AVR to. Check if the HDMI cable is connected to the eARC port of your TV. Check where the HDMI cables to your AVR’s are connected. Note the port numbers and go to your AVR’s settings. Check if your AVR is configured correctly, e.g. the configured HDMI in- and output matches the physical connection you noted previously. Remove resolution.ini from the pendrive again.
Maybe your AVR is misconfigured and automapping the source so something with the resolution detection goes wrong.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I am using a Samsung S90C TV.
I changed every setting on the AVR, but still to no avail. What I also tried was a manual update from Amlogic-no.aarch64-22.0-Piers_nightly_20250929-Generic.img to the CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.2-Omega_devel_20250222001421 build that was recommended by somebody.
Once again, after the update finished, my TV screen went completely white, with CoreELEC sounds in the background. I tried connecting it directly to the TV but had the same problem. I also tried connecting it to different monitors, and the screen is still completely white. ( different brands aswell )

Then somebody have no idea!
You downgrade kernel 5.15 to 4.9 and you think this is a good idea?
There is a reason why CoreELEC to do not provide any automatic update between different projects!
Always use a seperate boot media or clean, fresh install!
Frodo what and where is your latest skin for CE Ng 21.2 latest nightly on the Homatics Box R 4K Plus? On my system VC1 files play with white and red and more washed out colours. Will it be solved? Not a big problem but the same box running CE NO, VC1 play perfectly. Thanks.
There is no modification for that two, from me.

Question to those running CE22 with ATV14 on Dune box: does your WiFi work properly, you can connect to your WiFi access point?
After I upgraded to ATV14 and CE22 I am not able to connect to WiFi.
Just want to know your experience.
