I have my keys in /storage/.ssh/authorized_keys
file. And this has nothing special with Homatics or any other device.
vim3 $ cat /storage/.ssh/authorized_keys
from="x.x.x.x" ssh-rsa key_chairs...................... rsa-key-20210923
.....

Yeah, exactly. As as it is easier for me to generate keys directly on Homatics box, I didn’t use ssh-copy to transfer the public key, but rather touched the authorized_keys and cat id_rsa.pub > authorized_keys. Restarted ssh, but this doesn’t work and the key is not picked up. I just wanted to confirm I have the correct spot to store the file. I might try to regenerate new key pair.
I’ve been dealing with the same problem. So I’ve put the Homatics Box behind a smart plug now so that I can restart it using Alexa or from my phone whenever this happens.
Not sure what am I doing wrong. As I don’t currently have Linux box at home, I tried to generate the keys in CoreElec.
CoreELEC:~/.ssh # pwd
/storage/.ssh
ssh-keygen -t rsa
touch authorized_keys
cat id_rsa.pub > authorized_keys
CoreELEC:~/.ssh # cat authorized_keys
ssh-rsa ................. root@CoreELEC
As the keys are generated by OpenSSH and I am using Putty at home, I then go to puttygen and convert generated private key into Putty *.ppk format. Then I add it into pageant (where I am already using set of other private keys that are working fine with remote servers).
Also I assume sshd.conf is read only in CE, so nothing to be changed there and “PasswordAuthentication no” is set up in CE GUI via “deactivate SSH password”. Then if I ssh to the box, I got “no supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey, keyboard interactive)”
So I also tried to generate keys the other way around on my Windows box using puttygen that should also work. I press “Generate”, then take the public key section and past it into /storage/.ssh/authorized_keys. Then I save private key on my winndows and try the same as above. Unfortunately same result, so what Am I doing wrong?
I guess permissions are ok. After each change I also restarted CE, however I think this is not needed.
CoreELEC:~/.ssh # ls -la
total 4
drwx------ 2 root root 1024 Aug 27 09:17 .
drwxr-xr-x 15 root root 1024 Aug 27 09:32 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 567 Aug 27 09:16 authorized_keys
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 567 Aug 27 09:14 id_rsa.pub
CoreELEC:~/.ssh #
from the nature of the error, it seems to me that it doesn’t like the public key. But vpeter confirmed the /storage/.ssh/authorized_keys is the correct place for the key.
N2Plus:~/.ssh # ls -la
total 5
drwx------ 2 root root 1024 Nov 27 2021 .
drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 1024 May 26 16:10 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 401 Oct 31 2019 authorized_keys
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1679 Apr 15 2020 id_rsa
N2Plus:~/.ssh # pwd
/storage/.ssh
It works
Using too old putty maybe? Try different SSH client (like KiTTY).
oh dear, thanks vpeter for correct direction. sure, I was using my old putty that has been working for ages (inside SuperPutty, so didn’t have reason to touch it), so I tried the latest version, and voila. : )
perfect and thank you!
I have the same problem.
I am using CE 21 too.
I have a very small delay between video and audio.
I use Passthrough.
If I disable passthrough then the sync between video and audio fits.
But I would like to use Passthrough…
Could you fix that ?
Edit:
Problem is solved, I connected the box to the soundbar. Now everything is correct.
Last night, the Nokia 8010 Streaming Box received the SW update to v5554 and I can tell you, DolbyVision “under” CE-NE (20.3) works now wonderfully
Is the Nokia 8010 Streaming Box at the same functionality level now as the Homatics/Dune models?
I vaguely recall that the firmware was more outdated on these and so some problems couldn’t be resolved without firmware being updated like on the Homatics.
Looking to buy one as it’s cheaper here than Homatics.
The firmware exatctly same as homatics 5310, plus they added one dvb tuner improvements from homatics betas.
Hello, I’ve just bought Homatics Dune HD edition box, set up CE and all is working really nice. I can see that it should be possible to use Homatics IR module. After the initial boot under Android, it started to work automatically I believe with IR on my Panasonic TV. So when I used Volume +/- it was adjusting TV volume, rather than Android volume (which I like more). Then I set up CoreElec and wanted to achieve the same so I took remote.conf and placed it into /storage/.config and rebooted the box. I have used aszi’s config shared on this forum (Homatics Box R 4K Plus - #620 by aszi), but after reboot, it doesn’t seem to work. At least it no longer adjusts TV volume, but rather Kodi’s volume.
I thought the config might work with different Dune HD remote as I have Revision 2 box (with bigger remote control - new boxes being sold since May 2023). Do I need to adjust factory_code or any value within the config? Or is my understanding wrong and this only works with Dune HD box IR, rather than TV’s IR? It’s interesting that when I reboot into Android now, volume +/- on Homatics remote no longer adjusts TV, but it is now changing Android OS volume (I don’t mind as I plan to use CE over Android anyway, but it would be nice to make IR working in CE).
… and that was for the new Rosegold (revised) Homatics R Plus, had nothing to do with Nokia 8010. But hey, it’s finally there now.
Try use mine, from here and disable the bluetooth connection to the remote under coreelec settings. You will see, when ir mode, then the red light flashing instead of green. But you can see again, your cec settings, under CE
Ah, right, I see now. I haven’t originally noticed the led color on the remote. So it probably worked even with the very first config and it is also working with yours. Thank you. I can see red led when pressing buttons and I can also notice the need of pointing remote towards the box, comparing to BT. But I still like it more as there is no need to use pairing mode after each restart. And I think it also stopped working when I took a remote outside of the BT coverage.
Anyway, what confused me is the fact, that it “somehow” worked, on the very first boot under Android, when Vol +/- on Dune’s remote was changing TV volume, rather than Kodi. Meaning Volume +/- graphics was displaying Panasonic icons, over Kodi or Android icons, which is doing now (keeping Panasonic TV volume level unchanged).
Does netflix addon still works with the new aarch64 userspace?
If so does 4K netflix works on this box?
Yes for the first part, no for the second. Netflix is limited to what a browser in Linux can offer. So it’s 1080p.
Surely about I would say 95% of TV’s sold in the last 2 or 3 years must be ‘Smart’ TV’s right, that’s how I used to use Netflix till they got a little too greedy with there subscriptions so binned them. I do have a Homatics Coreelec Box which is used exclusively with ‘Local’ Content.
Ah so i assume for neflix 4K in kodi u need to install kodi on adroid?
