Another thead suggested asking on this one how do I obtain dovi.ko and how would I insert it my box is x4q 128gb extra
Tried that just now with 4K version (not Lite or plus). The Amazon Basic 1Gbit adapter I used, worked on both USB ports. USB3 gives the highest speeds, between 300-400Mbit for me with a 1Gbit internet connection.
“how do I obtain dovi.ko”
Someone needs to give you the file so you need to ask here if a ‘box owner’ would be kind enough to send you the new dovi.ko module/file for the 5.4.210 kernel.
Regarding installation

There was a discussion about this issue on this thread just over a week ago.
So basically copy the file from android then to coreelec
just for interest sake, where the module needs to be placed then? is the DV functionality dependent on this single file only?
I have Dune box where all is fine, but I am curious if I’d like to get rid of Android and make CE running from internal memory as the only one OS (not following the guide of remounting FS there), would it be possible to preserve dovi.ko from /android/odm/lib/modules, then partition internal emmc for CE, boot from it and then put dovi.ko back? would something like this hypothetically work?
As written: In /storage
.
Android is needed for other files. Also internal install is not supported if I’m not mistaken.
hi will this box box work in coreelec with DV dune-hd Premier 4K Pro
yeah, DV works in CE on Homatics Dune box. You need to use nightly builds for working DV playback.
That was not the question…
Is there a difference for CoreELEC Homatics vs Nvidia shield for only dolby vision files?
Its just homatics box R 4k plus motherboard, with other case, some added hw possibility like IR or hdd , and same firmware.
So the coreelec will work on this repacked homatics “dune-hd Premier 4K Pro” too.
OK lovely thanks I’m using 21 beta 1 dv seems to be working OK will kodi quietvoid ever be released for coreelec is the a remote configuration for the remote as I can’t power back on from suspend or power of have to unplug from mains using b25 remote
Use this.
CoreELEC already uses dovi_tool from quietvoid.
Hi everyone,
This is my first post in this forum. Thing is I got a Homatics Box R 4K Plus a couple of months ago and although I like Android TV I prefer using Kodi (better integration with my Jellyfin library, etc). I really don’t like the Android Kodi app performance and when I found this CoreELEC alternative I imediately installed it in order to try. I must say it works very well, but I have an annoying issue. I use a couple of streaming services (basically Disney+, HBO Max, Star+ and a couple of other streaming services from my country) and noticed that when using CE results vary from 540p to 720p. My TV is 1080p and I get 1080p resolution when using Android TV and/or running these streaming services as addons on Kodi.
Searching on this thread I found that it’s due to CE not having the necessary L1 widevine licenses (if I understood it right it doesn’t matter if the device itself is licensed if the software used isn’t, or some like that).
So my question is: considering that this streaming issue is a deal breaker for me is there any workaround to be able to stream in 1080p when using CE? Maybe one of the newer versions (I’m currently using this version)?
I used the 54 remote link u sent me remote flashes red in andriod and works can not get it to work in CoreElec CoreElec is running of usb u said put it into root folder how do I put it into root?
Short answer, no. CE is like a Linux browser in terms of possible resolutions. There’s no workaround. It varies from the 540p from MAX and prime, to 1080p in Netflix. Passing by the 720p max with Disney+. The way I would use a device like this is booting to android to use streaming apps and boot to CE for personal library. In reality, I use a firestick for streaming apps, it’s more than enough. CE for the rest.
I think you meant @frodo19
Don’t understand what you mean
