Homatics Box R 4K Plus

3660 and 4674

It seems I was not clear enough. I know the Homatics OS build doesn’t seems to matter, I’ve tested several different versions of those already. I meant the CoreElec build :wink:

It is strange. Wired works (at least it seem so) only when WiFi is also enabled (doesn’t need to be connected). But then internet is not accessible (streams). There seems to be network routes mismatch as there are duplicate routes with the same metrisc over eth0 and wlan0 but wlan0 is not connected. Internal netowrk (SMB shares seems to be working) but no internet content.

Latest Kodi 21 nightly

I tested now the MEL file and it works right now only with transcode on the fly p7 to p8.

When I force RGB, 8bit on CE like Android is using I get only some wrong coloured pictures.
We have no file system access of Android we can not check the settings what they use.

CE, p7 to p8:

@Portisch Even not with the sei bugtracker layer?
Click 5 times Kernel version + 1 time Right + 1 time Left + 1 time Right , open bugtracker video info. Than create shortcut combo in the app.

Thx, just checked it. There is dmesg included, yes.
Is there any way to access the driver as well like to set debug?
Like in /sys/class or /sys/module?

When I run fw_printenv do we need access to this?
http://ix.io/4t0v

dv_fw_addr=0xa00000
dv_fw_dir=/reserved/firmware/dovi_fw.bin
dv_fw_dir_odm_ext=/odm_ext/firmware/dovi_fw.bin
dv_fw_dir_vendor=/vendor/firmware/dovi_fw.bin

So I was able to check Android dmesg and what I see they have the same issues as we have.
It looks like it’s a faulty implementation at all right now on Android side.

MEL just works as it ignore the EL layer. So this is same as we do right now with using libdovi to remove the EL layer. But we do it for FEL as well so we are one step further than them as you can see on this pictures with a FEL sample…

CE:

At least you can watch right now in correct colours until a new firmware fix it.

BTW, the LEDs are working and nice by @vpeter :

We are thinking about a late Easter egg like a code in the LED bar as they are 10pcs.

We hit another HDR10/HDR10+ issue with this device so the release will take some more time…

The FEL implementation will probably never be a priority to get working. If I’m not mistaken the el layer on MEL movies is blank.

Waiting… There are also plans to support DOVI BDMV/ISO in the future?

Kodi does not currently support playback of dual-layer DoVi content.

After comparing AM6P(FW0.4.2) and HOMATICS(FW v11.8.4674),I think HOMATICS only outputs BL and DOVI FLAG, not RPU.
AM6P installs monsoons build Kodi.
HOMATICS installs quietvoid build Kodi.

Amlogic 4.9 do handle it correctly, yes. It uses two decoder to handle EL layer.

This does not yet work on 5.4 as it looks like a bug in the dovi.ko kernel module.
So CE will use libdovi to drop the EL layer until it’s solved by a new Android firmware.

The main difference between the two systems is: Dolby Vision will never be supported on non Amlogic-ne platforms so you can not use them for compare.

I think the dune app able to play them. Some short clips of playback.

Does the Dune apk install on the generic Homatics box (this thread) or only on the branded Dune box?

It won’t work without a license.

Make a logcat and I can tell you of EL layer is used or not.

Not EL, RPU
