How to configure VFD

sorry mate.
i’m feeling really fu*** dumb right now…
the problem was on the file. i choose “save as” instead of opening the link and copy the content from git.

really sorry for all the trouble i gave to you

Hi! I have an old tvbox like these. M9 with s905

What vfd i must use? Thank.

Try one from X92 or TX92, but if they don’t work, I’ll need the android DTB file or you can boot up android and run the following command in Terminal:
cat /sys/kernel/debug/gpio
Then post the output.

Hi there!

Would you be so kind to help me making my Tx3 mini’s display work?

It’s a Tanix TX3 mini with 2gb of RAM. I’m using the gxl_p281_2g DTB renamed to dtb.img and copied to the root folder of the SD card. I’ve also installed openVFD addon and copied the tanix-tx3-vfd.conf (https://github.com/arthur-liberman/vfd-configurations/blob/master/tanix-tx3-vfd.conf) to the /storage/.config folder and renamed to vfd.conf

Yet, the display shows “boot” only, even when coreelec is shut down.

Any ideas?
Thank you for your help and time.

Reboot the box, then SSH into it and post the output from these two commands:
systemctl openvfd status | paste
dmesg | paste

first command: Unknown operation openvfd.

When I execute with sudo:

http://ix.io/1fE4

Second command: http://ix.io/1ZPL

Hope it helps

Make sure that you save the raw vfd file, you probably copy pasted it and your editor added incorrect quote chars.

Yes. That was it. I right clicked on the link above and choose save lik as… and the file became 72Kb. Now I visited the link, clicked on Raw, copied the content and pasted to notepad++, and saved it. The file turned out only 2Kb. Uploaded to the Tanix and all good. Thank you for your help.

I should have realized myself that a 39 lines long code should not be 72Kb in plain text.

Thankx again. Have a good weekend.

Hi. I have SunnyBoxPro s905 2GB 1GB. I use gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit.

SunnyBOXPro_11

I have tried few VFD.conf but nothing is displayed. any recommendation before I am reinstalling android ?

SPEC:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJvOVAfVlsI (this not the same Amlogic but same chassis and VFD)

I need the Android DTB from this box to add support for it.

Arthur, Maybe you can help me guess which vfd.conf may have a chance with for my hardware

ok I ran cat /sys/kernel/debug/gpio and got permission denied.

I have older libreelec image which had a working vfd. Will it help?

I have the android full image if it helps

Did that LE image use a DTB or a vfd.conf? If it used a DTB, then I can use that file.

LEdtb.img (37.9 KB) DTB attached

dtb.img (32.5 KB)
OE DTB atached

Ok great, looks like t10max-vfd.conf should work. Please try it and let me know if it works correctly.

All works great! thank you so much for making this old device work like an updated one!

with Netflix and VFD. never believed it will be possible
