How to find code of a key to update remote.conf

I have a Tanix TX3, and the remote.conf in the repo works except for the power & mute button. I have seen that others have the same pb and I did use the latest from the ir repo.

I have read the instructions in How to configure IR remote control

I ssh to the box and follow the steps
when I do

ir-keytable -p NEC,RC-5,RC-6,JVC,SONY -t

it answers
/sys/class/rc/: No such file or directory

I tried tio create the folder but it won’t let me to.

With the Kodi keymap editor, this power key code is 16838845 which does not map the value in remote.conf

How can I find wihich value to put on this line:
0x4d 164 #@Play/Pause (Power)

Many thanks

Thanks for letting me know the file from the repository is not fully functional. Are you using the Amlogic or Meson version?

I will flag the file as under review. Maybe there are different variants of circuit board used in the TX3 remotes.

There are tutorials in the Library section of the repository to answer your questions.

@Betatester
I’m using the Amlogic version.

I have looked at the tutorials but not success so far.
I was optimistic about

ir-keytable -p NEC,RC-5,RC-6,JVC,SONY -t

but got stuck there with

/sys/class/rc/: No such file or directory

Any idea why ?

I would love to provide a fix to review for the remote.conf !

IR Receiver not recognized. Looks like you are having the wrong remote for the box. To test, power off the box and try to turn it on by using the remote power button. If the unit does not power on, the remote is very likely not the stock remote.

It does work, and that’s how I turn it on, with the power button of the remote.

Found an inconsistency with the archive. Please try again. The file should be corrected.
