Ugoos X4 Pro with Amlogic S905X4

What about to mecool km6 deluxe?

Mecool is not a supporter of CE.

Where can i find the remote config files for UGOOS X4 Pro. This is the remote I have

Try remotes/MesonIR/Ugoos X2 Cube at main · CoreELEC/remotes · GitHub

I don’t know how use the MesonIR. Have been using the AMRemote remote.conf file with my other box, but the Ugoos X2 Cube don’t have this files on the website

Anyone have the remote.conf file for Ugoos X4 or Ugoos X4 Cube?

I bought the Ugoos X4 Pro 32GB. When I tried CE 19.5-Matrix_rc2 (Stable) with the Ugoos X4 dtb with unique Device Tree, I can get to CE but the USB port don’t work so I cannot complete the CE setup.

But when I tried CE 19.5-Matrix_rc2 with generic Device Tree for X4, it works perfectly and the USB port is working fine too. The wifi and gigabit lan all works fine.

Why is that the Ugoos X4 unique device won’t have working USB yet the generic dtb have working USB?

I also tried booting CE from the USB with generic device dtb and it won’t boot at all. Looks like its not seeing the USB port. I am using a USB SDD. However when I try booting the same USB SDD on my HK1 RBOX, it works. This is really confusing.

So can the Ugoos boot CE from USB? If yes, how?

Please try with latest nightly

The ne nightly with Ugoos X4 unique Device Tree on microSD card fixed the usb port so now i can setup kodi with usb keyboard and remote.

But both ne & ng nightly still won’t boot with the USB SSD drive. Is this because the Ugoos X4 bootloader can’t boot from USB port?

It should boot, I’ll have to check later.

After further testing, while on ne nightly with Ugoos X4 unique Device Tree on microSD card, both wifi and LAN showing active but both don’t work. Both wifi and LAN shows its connected with internet, but it don’t have any connection to the internet. Try different addon and they all won’t connect to the internet.

Just tried CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-19.5-Matrix_nightly_20221006-Generic with Ugoos unique Device Tree and although both wifi and LAN can connect but return a different ip address as my network. My network is 192.168.0.X but the address connected shows 169.254.193.XX and won’t connect to internet.

So both ne and ng nightly have working USB port with Ugoos unique Device Tree dtb, but not working wifi and LAN

Nice story, but without any log you will not get any help…

You can try if a older version will work again:

I’ve just finished a round of tests in my Ugoos X4 pro using -ne nightly (0710) and both wifi and Ethernet work. I also booted from USB and that worked too with the same results as uSD. And just to be sure I used android firmwares 1.0.7 and 1.1.0.
So, provide logs if the problem persists

I got 2 Ugoos X4 pro box which I just received and setting it up for my friends.

The problem I described earlier about wifi and Lan not working happens on one of the box only. From the above picture one of the box was manufactured Nov 2021and the other in July 2022. The one manufactured last year was the one with the networking problem. The newer box wifi and Lan works great.

I’m sorry I’m not very good at all the technical stuffs like how to copy logs. Can someone help me out here please. I can ssh to the box. When I go to CE>System>Submit log and click on Upload latest Kodi log and configs, it shows failed to paste log files.

Btw, USB booting does work when I try from my pendrive, but doesn’t work on my USB SSD. The same USB SSD boot from the HK1 RBox X4 though.

That is rotten Lightning69. Although I cannot help you myself can you be a help to ne and others and say whether there is any other easy to see differences with the user manual, packing box, or anything else so others can identify if they have a problematic earlier version box or a later one, all without opening the box and invalidating any returns policy. I have an X4 Pro shortly about to arrive and if is an earlier model that does not work properly with CE I will return it immediately of course, so would be good to be able to identify an earlier version without opening the case.

Both boxes look identical. However on the bottom of the tv box the serial number actually have date on it. And the there are differences in the chip used.

connect by SSH to each single device and post the result of:
udevadm info /sys/bus/sdio/devices/*

My friend took his box already so I cannot do anymore testing. I have another X4 Plus coming soon. Let’s see how is that box

Thanks Lightning, that is a big help and should be helpful to others to save them opening their box if it does not fully work in CE. My X4 Pro is about to arrive any day now, hopefully today.

Well I have just got my Ugoos X4 Pro box and nice looking box and set up. The date of manufacture is very recent and shows as 2209 so not an old box that Lightning had the problem with. But I have a few problems that I need some help with please.

First of all I am using the latest 19.5 nightly build dated 6th Oct and using the dedicated Ugoos X4 device tree of the same date.

Okay all booted up okay into CoreELEC Matrix nightly but I had no control. Neither the remote nor the USB keyboard would work. Same was true using the generic X4 device tree which I discarded and went back to the Ugoos X4 DTB. I noticed that it did work with my Tanix X4 remote though even without restoring any previous backup.

I then discovered that if I moved the USB keyboard dongle from the USB2 port (Marked OTG ??) into the USB3 port the keyboard now worked okay. Tried my USB3 stick and USB hard drive plugged into the USB2/OTG port and they both worked fine too. So I am baffled why the keyboard dongle does not work in the USB2/OTG port? Neither my Logitec keyboard nor the Rii i8 worked in that port but both okay using the USB3 port ??? This is not good as I want the fast USB3 port free for my USB3 fast hard drive not the keyboard dongle. So can anyone help here ?? Is it a device tree driver problem though everything else works fine WiFi, Bluetooth perfect and my Ethernet connection gives me 530Mbps Down and 200Mbps Up which is about twice as fast as the gigabit port gives me at best on my old Tanix TX5 Deluxe. So the box hardware is very good it seems as I expected it would be.

I also finally need to know why the remote will not work with the dedicated Ugoos X4 device tree ?? Can anyone help me here too please?? Is there a remote.conf file I can download and put into the .config folder? I know nothing about Meson configuration BTW.
