  1. Burn CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.arm-20.0-Nexus_devel_20220929082110-Generic.img.gz on uSD with balena
  2. Copy t7_a311d2_khadas_vim4.dtb to the root folder and rename to dtb.img
  3. Place the uSD in VIM4 and power it ON
  4. Boot OWOW as always, no CoreELEC, no Kodi…

Ubuntu on uSD boot just fine on VIM4, so Upgrade mode is not the problem here.

The generic image do need Android on eMMc as base. The unique VIM4 image isn’t public yet.

Great guys, thanks. :sunny:
For my part, I no longer have a PC, so I will wait for it to arrive on Oowow.

Hey guys, Android 11-64 bit on eMMC runs CoreELEC well with a few GUI slow downs. Android 11-32 bit on eMMC runs CoreELEC well with fewer GUI slow downs system info shows both CPU and GPU at 68-70 degrees C with no fan, heat sink, thermal pads or case.Watched a couple of movies without any problems. Well done CoreELEC team most appreciated.

Should not make any difference. In any case VIM4 will have an own image that will run from emmc.

Good Day

I want to get a new Device i have an N2+ so i am thinking to move to Khadas.

I know VIM4 is WIP. Should i go for the VIM4 or Edge 2 ?

Thanks

Edge2 is a Rockchip device. No support in CE. VIM4 will be supported.

Ok thanks alot and good to know

VIM4 buyer: 6 months later still only Android work on eMMC ( not NVMe )… Ubuntu: No hardware acceleration… CoreELEC support: Nope… LibreELEC support: Nope… Mainline kernel support: Nope.

What should I say, team CoreELEC works now almost 6 months, daily to get a fully working and tested image. No like other projects what can be happy if booting at all. And when booting maybe without video or audio. Don’t want to say something about hardware decoder support at all…

So thank you very much for YOUR support!

Btw I can say the release should happen till next week as we fixed last “big” issues today.
