Kinhank G1 where is sc2_s905x4_kinhank_g1?

When downloading for Kinhank G1 site says use
sc2_s905x4_kinhank_g1

then in device_trees, there is no such file!

Wrong image used?

No I used the official links
Download → 21 Omega Stable → New Installation
Device Kinhank G1

file downloaded
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.0-Omega-Generic.img.gz

Use nightly version - 21.0 doesn’t have this dtb.

The other Kinhank G1 thread is closed.
Now how do you boot into it for the first time? Just powering on doesn’t.

Thread is closed
But can still read through, and there are links to remote config, bluetooth, etc…

Hold in reset button and power on the Box
Much like any other Box

I did read the post as much as it was possible but I did not find the information.

Ok
Reset is on right hand side
In the middle of the 2 USB Ports

After intial Boot
Should always Boot CoreELEC first

Instead of a reset, you can use Reboot to CoreELEC apk.

So I have been using this device [Kinhank G1] with
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.1-Omega_nightly_20240804-Generic.img.gz

for several days and I’m very disappointed. Not even talking about playing “advanced” stuff like 4K, AV1, …!

It can’t play a normal basic 1080p 23.976 HEVC correctly.
Watching a movie, it does change the refresh rate of tv to 24 but I do get small jumps micro stutters from time to time and it’s unacceptable.

This is Amlogic S905X4-J and I have cheaper devices X96 Mini AMLOGIC S905W and it plays a normal movie, normally and smooth!

i use this dtb.img without issue
sc2_s905x4_kinhank_g1.dtb
EDIT: Don’t upload when it’s available in image itself.

rename file to dtb.img

I used what was inside:
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.1-Omega_nightly_20240804-Generic.img.gz

20240812 will solve the issue? I will try it later.

I watched a movie back in Kodi Android TV 11 and it played it very smoothly. (1080p 23.976fps in 60hz!)

I don’t know why I really thought Kodi should change the refresh rate inside AndroidTV 11! I thought that was what it was doing in my nVidia Shield.

The firmware on August 12th is very useful, and my SoC is also s905x4-j. Currently, there are no problems using it, so feel free to use it.

after update is support auto refresh rate? and fix always hdr ?

I installed
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.1-Omega_nightly_20240812-Generic.img.gz
and indeed that problem is gone. Now I can smooth play 1080p 23.976 with refresh rate changed to 24hz. No micro stutters.

However I have noticed a scaling issue? If you have a 1920 x 800 video for example. If screen fades to black you see a white line on the edges. With Kodi Android TV 11 you don’t see those white lines on the edge.

Do you have time to try today’s nightly version and see if it has been fixed?

Yes I will try it later. I also resolved the scaling issue with the old version. You see those white edges if CoreELEC output is set to 1080p, if I set the resolution to 4K, I don’t see the white lines anymore.

Hello, I am using a Tencent Aurora 4Pro device with SoC s905x4-j. Currently, I have not encountered any issues with you. I manually scaled it myself, and the default full screen exceeds the screen range. My TV is also 1080p.
