Librespot addon

@Ray can you pls compile librespot addon for odroid C2?

I asked the addon author but he said to ask here and said it is in master.

There where some issues with the addon and it’s fixed now.

Thanks!

It was done today and is available in the CoreELEC repo.

Don’t wanna open an extra thread for my question:

I noticed, in CE 8.9.x Librespot addon didn’t work as good as in LE 8.2.x. With that I mean it takes like 5-6 secs to skip to another song. In LE this happened almost immediately. Changing bitrate doesn’t change the time between skips.
I don’t know if this is CE related or Kodi Leia related…or due to changes in Librespot addon.
I posted it over at Librespot thread:

Basicly I’m interested if anyone else noticed the longer skip times? I have a S905X box with 1GB RAM.

@anon88919003 are you sure?

I just checked and it’still the same version in THE CE repo.

I also updated the CE repo but it’s still version 9.0.111

Thanks still looks like my issue still not fixed.

The version number did not change but the file most certainly did.

You need to clear your local package cache in /storage/.kodi/addons/packages and then force a reinstall.

Thank you i did that but do i need now to reinstall all packages?

Just FYI, this also has been fixed with latest addon update.

Thank for report back but i have an issue with tvheadend client and librespot.

If librespot addon is installed with latest CE zapping/channelswitching isn’t working anymore.

I tried CoreElec, and have the same problem. For me TVHeadend pvr crashed, didn’t work with librespot installed. Had to go back to wrxtasy version since the wife factor.

@KodiKinG Did you manage to resolve the problem with Librespot and TVH?

No sorry.

I think it’s a platform/build issue (amlogic)
On my rpi 3b+ it’s working fine with LE9 milhouse testbuilds.

I can confirm that the librespot plugin does not run satisfactorily on CoreELEC 8.90.3 (Wetek Play 2).

The issue depends on the used audio system:

  1. ALSA
  • If librespot is active playing, the Kodi GUI is not working anymore
  • If I stop the playing and try to use Kodi again, it crashes
    • last lines of kodi_crash.log:

  1. Kodi

I can switch between the use of librespot and Kodi without crashes. But sometimes (maybe after librespot was restarted) the audio output is stuttering.

So what to do contact THE addon author or is it a amlogic/CE issue

It seems to have something todo with Kodi and librespot suing the same audio device. On my Wetek Play 2 box I changed the ALSA device of Kodi (Settings/System/Audio) from ‘ALSA: Default (AML-M8AUDIO Analog), PCM’ to ‘ALSA: AML-M8AUDIO, HDMI’. Than it seems to work, at least on the first tests.

In 8.90.5 now also the Kodi audio mode works.

It doesn’t work for me. CE 9.5.0, Librespot 9.0.111 and Tvheadend pvr client, Odroid C2.
Mo matter what I select, of Librespot is enabled, I can start a TV channel, but can’t swithc channels, it freezes completely, need to do a hard reset.
Amy ideas?

Cannot say much more than already posted.

Generally, if librespot and Kodi use the same ALSA device such problems occur.

I use currently the Kodi audio mode (librespot settings). It works without any problems.

Before Kodi audio mode worked (before 8.90.5), I could edit the Kodi audio options and use another ALSA device. But I don’t know if this is available on your system. But Kodi audio mode works still better for me.

Do you use Tvheadend? So you are saying that Librespot and Tvheadend are working fine on your system now? You can switch channels in LiveTV while Librespot is enabled?
