I can’t answer your question, but if you feel you need a larger SD card, I would suggest you clone this to a larger card using clonezilla. If that works, & the device boots, use Gparted to expand the storage partition.
I can confirm that this box can only boot CE using an 8GB card, I used a class 10 one. Mecool support told me it can use only up to 32GB cards, but it seems it can’t boot CE using larger capacities.
