A setting called “Show Update Notifications” that can be turned on and off seems pretty straight forward to me, but if you say it isn’t meant to disable them, then I’m curious to find out what it does.
FWIW I use nightlies and often update too. But not automatically. I usually look the changelog first to be sure it’s something that seems like it might have some benefit for me. e.g if it’s a bunch of fixes for rPI that I don’t use, I see no reason to need to go through the download/reboot/install process.
I also make sure there aren’t hysterical reports of issues. Unlike some of the people here, I’m not that comfortable with futzing around with linux and SSH.
Reading this bit Update notifications
So I need to have it on Auto in order to switch off notifications? Seems a bit counter intuitive. Or I guess this means it will just download updates automatically without prompt, and tell me to update when ready.
Perhaps an info blob at the bottom could make it more clear.
