I’ll do some reading. Thanks.
A setting called “Show Update Notifications” that can be turned on and off seems pretty straight forward to me, but if you say it isn’t meant to disable them, then I’m curious to find out what it does.
FWIW I use nightlies and often update too. But not automatically. I usually look the changelog first to be sure it’s something that seems like it might have some benefit for me. e.g if it’s a bunch of fixes for rPI that I don’t use, I see no reason to need to go through the download/reboot/install process.
I also make sure there aren’t hysterical reports of issues. Unlike some of the people here, I’m not that comfortable with futzing around with linux and SSH.
Reading this bit Update notifications
So I need to have it on Auto in order to switch off notifications? Seems a bit counter intuitive. Or I guess this means it will just download updates automatically without prompt, and tell me to update when ready.
Perhaps an info blob at the bottom could make it more clear.
Was not aware this was a well discussed feature. Thanks again.

1 CEC problem. Turning on TV makes turning on my S905X2 (Ugoos X2 Cube) as well. In LibreELEC (other boxes) switching source on TV made my box on. Can You fix this? Turning off TV without turning off box working well.
2. Sleep/wake issue. Chooseing sleep from power menu makes my TV box sleep. I cannot wake it back. Any advice?
3. Not working 5 GHz wifi. May it not CE issue, but im not sure.
I moved from LE and mostly im glad of working CE. Despite described issues.
@bazzle
As CEC is off in settings still turning on TV makes turning on box.
I have USB RF dongle for my remote which working well. But while box is turned off, i cannot turn on using power button pn remote. It seams USB is off. As i wrote earlier its impossible to wake up box.
hello all!
I loaded CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-9.2-nightly_20200313-Generic.img.gz into my thumb drive to install on my tictid tx6 plus box. I used the sm1_s905x3_4g_1gbit.dtb and renamed it dtb.img per the instructions. Upon booting my device, i first got a green screen with thumb drive on 3.0 port. Then I let it boot normally, installed my thumb drive and used an app to “reboot update.” I got
Filesystem corruption has been detected
To prevent an automatic repair attempt continuing"
message but could not see it fully since the resolution was not optimal.
Any suggestions on a fix besides a new thumb drive? thanks!
We never give ETA’s but we are exploring releasing a stable but there is still a couple of outstanding issues, mainly the video slowdown with HEVC content is causing the biggest concern.
Most of the devs haven’t been able to reproduce it but we have seen multiple reports of it.
my x96 max+ (4gb) just arrived today. I installed the latest ce nightly and used the sm1_s905x3_4g device tree.
CE is starting and wifi is working but the original control does not work. is there a way to solve this problem?
Yesterday I loaded up the current nightly over my 9.21 to see if the kernel change would help. I thought it was supposed to fix the momentary video black out when starting to view a file. Sorry to report that it did not work for me. Any where from 1-4 seconds after start the screen goes black for a few seconds then works fine.
Is there some other setting I need to adjust to solve this issue? What detail can I provide to help?
Thanks for your reply and sorry that I am asking over here. English is not my mother language. I just found topics where people have problems with their bluetooth remote , in my case the original remote does not work. Do you have a link?
