@Portisch
I managed to solve this issue with Reverting changes in this Commit 9d6a023

Ok, maybe this is a left over of the buffer tests.
It will be removed in next nightly.

Hello I am trying to install the homatics LEDs addon but keep getting failed installation. I have tried with any other addons inside the coreelec repo but get the same issue. Started happening since the last nightly update. I am able to install addons from other repos. Any idea on how to fix this?

anyone else having crashes during playback with nightly 19?
Using ng build on nokia 8010 with dolby vision
Reverted to a regular release build, working without any issues.
File used for playback is an episode of Silo(s02e5),sharing this as file should be available online for others to download and test.

202501 19
Tox3 NE working ok (atm)
S02 e05. No problems there. (yet)

H96x2 NG cannot get upnp to work yet??. will update.
OK, had to reboot as it said update corrupted? Downloaded again. Update worked.
Still no upnp. Reloaded CE 3 times, waited …upnp started working.
Loaded file as above. Played OK for me…sorrydaniel24

Even https://relkai.coreelec.org/Amlogic-ne/ce-21/CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.2-Omega_nightly_20250119-Generic.img.gz does not solve the jerky playback on TOX3 (S905X4). I have enough of it, too much attention to details/features probably only a few users will appreciate while not able to play simple files.

It would be better to choose/support just a few recent devices/Amlogic chipsets that don’t have locked boot loaders, develop a well working Coreelec version for those and maintain that software. Skip all the old stuff, focus on just 1 OS family/version/branche and bug fixing of that one.

Refresh only after 1 or 2 years with the then best hardware choices. It is apparently impossible to maintain so many software versions for so many devices (like the situation is now). NG, NE, NO, 9.2.8, 20.5, 21, 22 → make that Coreelec 22 for let’s say 5 devices varying from cheap to expensive. Make it 23 if that one is in the make, I could not care less about what Kodi version and kernel blah blah are used as the differences are marginal to a simple end user. In fact it seems the higher the number the worse it gets  I want to press “play” and see a movie. Heck you may even charge for the software and support! Possibly just 1 device can be produced/chosen in cooperation with a supplier and support is then just for 1 device and 1 OS version that is stable, fast, 100% supported and plays files the best possible way.

It may all be free etc. but it should be usable or it won’t have a function compared to the Android OS the device came with. Sorry.

No one is forcing you to test CoreELEC
Remove SDcard
And go back to Android

And this from a user with a device not official supported by CoreELEC :man_facepalming:

You might have a look here and you can see 9.2.8 and CE-20 is already EOL/Final. CE-21 will be final soon…
https://wiki.coreelec.org/coreelec:ce_dev_cycle

We would love to support only one single device but users do decide, not CoreELEC.

About other (commercial) products: CoreELEC is free and open source. And also a hobby project.

Other products you talk about will take money.

As CoreELEC is free of charge no one did force you to use Amlogic as platform or use CoreELEC as system. So give us a pleasure and remove CoreELEC and use Android only. If you want we can also delete your account.

Your welcome!

Then stop messing around with Kodi Media Center, which is obviously a too big task for you, and get a simple movie player and be happy.

Please explain what use it has to average users to install an alternative OS when it just does not work right? Portisch, all good and nice but my antique players with 9.2.8 do play the same content without any issue :slightly_smiling_face: It is not limited to TOX3 or just me either.

Please immediately delete my account as suggested. Apparently average users that just want stable playback of bog-standard 1080p x265 videos files (by means of pressing a “play” button, no more no less) are not desired.

@anon64134090
I have NO issues with my Tox3. Latest nighties are working OK for me.
NG and now NE.
I even recommend this box and have a 2nd on the way.

Can you post a sample of a file you are having issues with?
Can you explain in more detail what your real problems are?
What SD card are you using, how do you get the files to the Tox3.
(I use Serviio over a windows network)

Apparently, because such users are using a complex Media Center and Entertainment Hub, instead of a simple Media Player

I think anon64134090
may of just been having a bad day

I’ve not been able to connect to the coreelec repository or update the os for months, maybe a year, now … I’m not complaining about that, just letting you know where I’m at in terms of the build, etc … it got to a usable state and I’ve been unwilling to risk changing that.

However, I’d now like to start resolving a couple of things … but before I can do that, I’ll need to get this thing properly connected. I’ve tried doing this:

However, the search results in nothing. :frowning:

I’m not asking for help, just posting myexperience … that’s all … I’m sure I’ll figure out a way … maybe from the wiki, I dunno. But I do get the error reported here (to be updated with link) and when I go into the settings and tap on manual for update, it says there’s an update, I select to download it, it does a little “bloop” … then nothing happens (for days).

Nothing shows in the logs, either.

Again, not asking for help, just posting my experience.

If I can figure out out I’ll let you know.

oh … I’m on the following version which I am assuming it’s a nightly, as I installed it easy back in the early days of this working on the am6b+: 21.0-Omega_beta3

EDIT: I just tried altering the subnet mask on the static IP, from 255.255.255.0 to the same but with another 255 instead of the zero, and that did nothing, either.

Oh, and turns out I can’t upload images on Android Firefox … they’re just pictures of me searching for “CE repo update” … which did nothing.

I have the issue that the volume always resets to maximum on reboot. This started happening when I went onto Nightlies. I have a N2+ with Khadas Toneboard for sound. Setting current volume as default has no effect. I have CEC disabled by default.
Annoying since nightlies need a reboot nearly every day.

What’s the current status of the stuttering video issue, would it be useful to have a go and get some debug logging done on CE22-no? Last one I tried was the January 15th nightly.
