Nightly builds

20190731 nightly fresh install. Looks nice, but getting strange lockups during scan of tvdb (even though movies scanned ok using tmdb), as well as “Unable to connect to remote server…”. Using SFTP connection (as I always have). Feels similar to some issues I had on 9.0.2 official (where 9.0.3 was better), but that’s a guess.

Hard to get logs when the system freezes, so threw these in JIC it’s useful.
On Nexbox A1 (gxm_q200_2g)

good luck!

two quick notes: red stylish is kinda the same as CE/LE safe mode, it could make some confusion for users switched back and forth and confusion in troubleshooting with them.

May I vote for bringing superiour Confluence back to default?

For me, red its quite agressive (been in red bedroom a few years, what a relief when I moved to own flat)

Even the safe mode has the same purpose: look out, this is special mode! Red is alarm colour, so I have also red command line for root in bash, monitor alerts are red, alarming values in gauges are red etc…

Just my 2cents.

The primary (brand) colour of CE is red, and in our case not limited to one colour, so you can change it as you like, not everyone will like it.

I am currently running nightly 20190731 on my Odroid N2 but it looks like some options are missing (or maybe not available for N2 yet?): the only options in the CE settings are for HDR/SDR Tone Mapping but I was looking for:

Disable noise reduction
Disable Deinterlacing
Limit output to 8 bit
Use 4:2:2 colour subsampling
etc.

I have some trouble with mit TV and 4K and wanted to test 4:2:2 …or is there any other way to set color subsampling? Thank you in advance.

Love the red and whatever changes the release included that fixed a couple of problems I was having.

Now for a question. Is there a file size limit on SMB transfers?. I have the server on latest S905 and client on NG, also latest. I keep getting file transfer errors on files in excess of 2GB (based on the percentage when the failure occurs) but not on smaller files. On the client side, I’m trying to copy to a ntfs formatted USB stick with more than enough free space. Googling seems to suggest that it has been a problem for others in Linux/LibreElec and CoreELEC but I havent come across anything that tells me if this is a limitation or is something that can be fixed.

I’d welcome any info about this.

Are you sure it formatted in NTFS? Because there are no issues with coping 10 Gb files from HDD with NTFS partitions connected via usb ports

That’s what gparted on my laptop tells me it is. I’m sure you appreciate this but I am talking about samba transfers not transferring by connecting 2 drives up to the same box by usb.

I’m also talking about transferring between my hdd connected to box and pc via samba
Are you using latest CE on both boxes? if you connect the same USB stick in different box do you have the same issue?
and also try different usb stick for test or reformat this one…

OK, got you. I can’t do right now but I’ll be back. Thanks.

These are the only options on N2 also on stable (9.0.3) release.

I’m running 9.0.3 stable on eMMC as my daily driver on my N2…

Out of curiosity I made a fresh nightly 20190731 install on a spare uSD card. Apart from “cosmetic” changes there is one peculiarity that I encountered during several hours of testing:
my Riii mini i8+ WiFi keyboard is acting erratic/abnormal. Sometimes (not every time) a short (normal) key press does nothing, it takes a longer (about 1/2 second) press for the key to act.

The other thing is that I’m used to fast press a key several times to repeat its action without any problem, but on this nightly if I repeatably press any key fast to repeat the action it starts to execute the command in a fast sequence by it self without any further key press. (For example if I press “down” key 3 times fast, after last release the keyboard repeats the down action as if I pressed the key 10 times) To get it to behave normally I have to make a pause about 1/2 second between pressing same key repeatedly not get it “to run away” uncontrolled.

(Returning to my stable version 9.0.3 on eMMC the keyboard behaves normally)

You are right that some of the options in 3.14 based builds are not there anymore. Noise reduction and deinterlacing should not be needed on the N2 and other newer SoCs, so we did not add them to the NG builds.
Force 8-bit and 422 toggles will be added in tonight’s build.

Wifi and BT support will be in tomorrow’s nightly for people with H96 Max X2.

To answer my own question:
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=345935
The problem seems to be in the Kodi build and TVDB API.

Hello, is Odroid N2 playing Dolby Vision?

No, it doesn’t.

No wifi connections showing up … but the wifi is Active.
No display (all dark)except in Android where display works fine.
X96 Max 2G/16G 100Mb/s with 20190802 nightly.

applying nightly 20190802 on N2 gives syntax error in update.sh, see picture.
But in my case CE works without problems after reboot, nighly is applied.

Thanks, we’ll fix it in the next nightly.
