Odd thing: I’ve been running the Le Potato nightlies without incident (and with no small pleasure) but I kee getting the update is available notification. I checked it out and saw that it wasn’t the nightlies. My wife got the same notification and decided to help me out. She called me after the screen had been black for some minutes, on a reboot I got the OFFICIAL version, the old CoreELEC boot screen and a boot into safe mode. I still had the last nightly so I uploaded it and everything went back to good.
Just an odd thing that it considers the old stable version an update to the latest nightly. Might be nice to have the nightlies as a source.
I have noticed something similar.
Even when updates are configured for the custom channel for nightlies, the available update versions are always 9.0.0, 9.0.1, 9.0.3 and 9.0.3
Sorry for the slow response @boot2k3 but I’ve been testing scenarios. Trying to copy a 2.18Gb with samba has produced a failure every time. Both boxes running the latest nightly as was the other box I tried in replacement for the N2 samba client. I have not messed with samba.conf and am running Samba as it comes with the boxes. I have tried:
The USB stick in a different box
A USB stick formatted as FAT32 in the N2 samba client.
The same stick reformatted to NTFS in the N2 samba client
Changing the min and max samba protocols from 1 and 3 to 2 and 3 on both boxes.
Copying to my laptop’s hard drive with a transfer initiated a) from my laptop and b) from coreELEC file manager. I thought this might work because your post reads as if this is what’s working for you.
Disabling Samba server on the N2 and using it solely as a client.
Plugging in the USB stick to the same box as my hard drive and copying is the only way I can get the file to copy. By the way, I have tried other files in case there was some corruption in the one I used.
I have also noticed that if I play the file from file manager over samba, playback ceases near the end but it will continue if I watch through PLEX kodi client (PLEX server is running in Docker on the S905 box).
All very puzzling in view of your comments. That said it isn’t a showstopper for me.
I don’t understand what is going on on your box related to samba…
Please reboot box and try to repeat copying issue
After error execute commands below and upload links
dmesg | paste
cat /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log | paste
mount | paste
Like @Compent say i also dont see latest build i did have to install from placing tar in update folder
Ps
What is differenc in

Thank you for looking into this. The error occurs at about 92% of the file transfer which is about 2gb

Looks like some USB3 issue…
Check 3 topics with words USB, UAS… from link below

I don’t know may be some solution from there can help you
Had a look but didn’t come across anything. The thing is that the test I did with another box was with a S905 that doesn’t have usb3. Never mind, I can live with it.
I read the guide topic How to report an issue you’re having with CoreELEC and went through the procedure only to find there is no menu option to submit a log or crash.
How do I submit these logs?
My problem is playing an ISO of a dvd is causing a segfault. I tried multiple images. Same problem.
They are there (I just looked from the latest nightly) in the place noted in your link. Logs are uploaded to a site address you need to link.
Upload the log: Settings > CoreELEC > System > Submit Log > Upload latest Kodi log
Thanks. I looked harder and that option is not present when using the Confluence skin I prefer. I switched to estuary and was able to submit the logs!

What else can I do to help?
I am using Confluence as well. You can just run (or set up key for this) CoreElec Configuration Addon (from addons menu, context menu, start addon or something like that)… I am doing this that way when I need go there (fortunatelly not often, ususally one initial setup).
EDIT: Or you can use this simply edit to Confluence skin.
I have several network issues, one which is new in these 9.1 nightlies, but the other has been ongoing since 8.9 days, or maybe earlier.
Using Nexbox A1 gxm_q200_2g on ethernet, via SFTP addon.
- Issue 1 is NTP is not starting quick enough and causing some SSL problems with other items trying to start.
- The second issue (which is fairly regular) is loss of connection to libraries, like in between songs, or tv shows. Sometimes the initial scan seems to loose connection and asks if I want these items removed.

Seeing the second issue has been ongoing, and not directly nightly related, I’m happy to create a new thread for that if preferred? Thanks all.
I installed Build Duffman Kodi, but why Dolby Atmos audio and DTS HD Master don’t work? I have set it correctly in the audio. anyone can help ?
In order for passthrough to work right on AML devices with our kernel, there’s a Kodi patch required.
Oke . Thanks very much
X96 Max 100Mb/s 2G/16G nightly_20190805
Wireless device shows as Active, but not finding wifi routers etc.
No display lit up.
Other than that looks good for my 1080 basic use … maybe the lack of a display is a ‘plus’ and as I use wired LAN for the device the lack of wifi does not matter to me personally.
Comment: I really like the new Red CE Splash screen. On my device the X96 splash is shown first, then the CE Red replaces it. Is this to be expected?
To my eyes the text under the logo on the splash graphic is too prominent. I am unsure but maybe a smaller font and/or moving the text a small bit lower (away from the graphic) might be better. But I am not a graphical person so that might be rubbish
Thanks to devs for the work.
We are reworking the splash a little bit to make the CE logo and text smaller, to be more like the old boot splash.
And yes, it’s normal to see the X96 splash first, as it’s loaded by the vendor u-boot.
nightly version 20190806 when I rebooted emmc / nand it didn’t work, and returned to coreelec instead of android. please return it like nightly 805. My device GT K. thanks
