[S922X] Ugoos AM6(+), Help & Support

When you check kodi debug log you will see the reason.

Also you can check with ffprobe your media files.
For FEL there must be stream pid 0x1011 (BL) and 0x1015 (FEL).
If this is not correct it’s not properly encoded.

Thank you for the feedback, in the debug log do I have to look for anything in particular? I did find a lot of debug log messages saying “debug : CVideoPlayerVideo - video decoder returned error”, but I can’t see any message with log level error or even info that indicates that there is a problem.

About the encode, they are most probably fine, but I will also check by myself.

Why do You want support from Team CE ?
BTW:
“Scene releases” are not legal in most countrys

I only mentioned that in relation to the way they are encoded, that’s all.

I will edit that part in case it is inappropriate, I am sorry about that.

From the ffprobe this is what I get for Top Gun Maverick (remux) and as a side note, it plays perfectly fine on my Shield TV Pro, but of course, no FEL support :frowning: :

Stream #0:1(eng): Video: hevc (Main 10), yuv420p10le(tv, bt2020nc/bt2020/smpte2084), 3840x2160 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 1k tbn (default)

I think I found the problem, thank you so much for the tip for ffprobe. It seems like the issue is that the video stream is not placed as the very first stream i.e. Stream #0:0, it is #0:1.

The original remux that I had had a subtitle placed at #0:0 instead of the video stream and I believe that this is what caused the problem to appear. I’ve compared the ffprobe from my original remux with another one that I just got for the same movie (TGM) and the new one plays flawlessly, while the original is still facing the issue. This stream id thing is the only difference between the two.

As I’ve initially said, on 21.0 both work fine, while on 21.1.1 only the new one works. I am also not sure if this is something caused by Kodi itself or CoreELEC.

EDIT: For reference, this is how the ffprobe looks like, at least the first part and as you can see, Stream #0:0 is actually a subtitle:

Stream #0:0(rum): Subtitle: subrip (srt)

Try a new release, get the Framestor or Cinephiles version and I bet they will work.

Yup, that’s what I’ve done, actually, I started replacing the remuxes that I had which had the video stream as #0:1 with Framestor ones. Works like a charm!

Ultimately an easy fix. This list may interest you, click the “JSON” on the link to expand:

This is the tier list for remux release groups. You’ll see that Framestor and Cinephiles are both in the tier 1 group, and I’d argue they are even a cut above the other tier 1 groups. The best of the best.

When looking for releases, look for release groups in the tier 1 grouping. You’re basically guaranteed that the remux was produced correctly.

Framestor has produced a remux of almost every 4K disk, maybe 99% out of the 1600-1700 disks out there. You’re almost guaranteed to find a Framestor remux of any disk you’re looking for.

You probably already know this but if you’re watching a particular football match and not zapping through channels , CE is the best option. No wrong refresh rate, no judder, just a fluid match. Well, I guess that if your team isn’t playing well there’s nothing CE can do about fluidity…

I do like the interface more on those apps, also using SmartTube for YouTube.

Thanks a lot for the resource. I was mainly using remuxes from playBD (tier 2) since they are from my home country, but luckily I can easily see if one remux from them has the video as the first or second stream directly in the “you-know-what” description/metadata.

To be fair I’m still curious to find out why it was working fine on 21.0 versions and on 21.1 it is not.

Latest cpm’s version that includes “Dynamic conversion of HDR10+ SEI to DV P8 NAL” and the latest general CE updates:

How can we identify through ssh which Ugoos model I have, the AM6 plus or AMB6 plus?

Which one did you buy? Seriously!

On the packaging there is written AMb6 plus. But on the splashscreen just before booting to CE I see S922X instead of S922X-J.

System Info/Hardware: Amlogic S922X rev b

Which box is that?
Perhaps you are making a mistake, because Ugoos has AM6B plus box…
There is no separate Amlogic logo for S922X-J/K versions.

Its mine…
