[S922X] Ugoos AM6(+), Help & Support

I have an am6b+ currently winging its way from China. I’ve read through the installation guide etc and it all seems pretty helpful. One thing I’m not sure of though is whether or not I should use the CP build. I have an oled tv and I’m not interested in any conversion to or from Dolby vision so my initial thought was I just don’t need it.

However I’ve read it fixed the ATME bug which i understand results in incorrect display of HDR material mastered at over 1000 nits. Do I need to install the CPM build if i want this bug sorted? I saw this post when discussing the bug

Astroline
“The fix for the ATEME bug has been merged into the mainline.“

Does this mean that the latest coreelec build fixes the bug and the CPM build is no longer required?

Correct only difference is HDR10+ to DV in the cpm build.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Help, support CPM build

No need to go with my builds just use the nightly or stable.

Thank you for the clarification. And for the incredible work you appear to have done with your build. Just for clarification, that specific bug fix is in the nightly ‘ng’ build? I also need FEL 7 support

It is in the nightly - actually I do not recall if the fix was merged before the last stable, so maybe not there.

Nightly is good for DV Profile 7 FEL, CE Team I am sure will help answer any other questions you have on the nightly.

Thank you. That sounds pretty clear. I’ll keep a hold of your latest cpm release as well in case I want hdr10+ conversion in the future. :slightly_smiling_face:

I received a new AM6b+, the box have the new firmware 0.5.4n, and i can’t install CoreELEC because when i try the box remain stuck in upgrading bootloop

interesting, but I doubt that it’s related to the new FW. I have two boxes, one old and one from mid-2024 with 0.5.4n preinstalled, both work just fine with CE…

You follwed all the installation instructions, and renamed the correct dtb?
Try use other sd card, or other burning software…

Tried both “am6.dtb” and “am6b.dtb” and nothing. I burned a usb drive first with balena etcher then with rufus and same

Why? You should only use “am6b.dtb” renamed dtb.img without any additional extensions like for example dtb.img.txt.

I tried first one then the other. Just to be sure

Hello!

I just recently installed Coreelec to eMMC on Ugoos AM6B without issues.
But how do I restore it to “factory default” if I want to?

And if I want to make a reinstall to eMMC, is it just to follow the same steps as before and it will overwrite the old folder on the harddrive?

I find it quite unstable so I want to try to run from SDCard again to see if this fixes the issues I am having

Thanks

Just plug the SD card in and boot. CE will prioritize that in boot order.

Ok perfect thank you
And how can I remove the CE partition on emmc if I want to ?

Hope I’m not misreading… the VS10 work you did is now in the NG nightlies?

no it is not, only ATME bug was added to the nightlies

ssh connect to Box
Now run ceemmc - x

**Use the option in CoreELEC tool to make a copy of internal CoreELEC on external media uSD/USB flash drive.

Now use option in tool to remove internal CoreELEC installation.

Thats it.

Now have Android all by itself.

** You can skip this part if you do not care about making/saving copy of CoreELEC

Awesome, thanks for this! Have a great day

PS, Just me having issues with the box hanging / freezing in different menus? Just tried to browse the library and the box froze so I had to pull the power, boot it up, freezes shortly again when trying to update the library. This is using the stable version from frontpage

Will try to change back to HS200 instead of 400 to see if this had something to do with it.
And of course get a debugglog if I want proper help here
