I just bought a used Ugoos AM6+ and installed the latest stable ng version (CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.1.1-Omega-Generic.img.gz). I’m experiencing random crashes (sometimes just kodi crash, a few times whole system reboot) while browsing through my library. Attached is the crash log.https://paste.coreelec.org/HumaneLacks. What might be causing these crashes? I’ve tried 2 different sd cards and they both exhibit the same crashes.

Try last nightly ng yet. I had never crash with am6+. Maybe your device is defekted. Try also update only original android on 0.54, because crashed firmware of device in Android is issue also for CE. Coreelec was always stabile on my Am6plus. I use sd card for CE only from sandisk.

I’m using the am6b+ with my LG G4. My TV supports DTS-HD and dolby atmos. Yesterday, while tweaking the settings in kodi, I thought of enabling truehd passthrough to see what happens. After enabling it, truehd atmos movies are now playing in dolby atmos but if i keep it disabled, they play in pcm. The loudness is lower in dolby atmos compared to pcm. My ocd isn’t letting me rest now. Should I leave truehd passthrough enabled or disable it? I’m clueless about audio formats, so I’m all confused.

I’m playing yojimbo remux sdr. But i’m gettin HDR HLG?

Why is it playing in HDR HLG? I want the original SDR format. there is no sdr-hdr tonemapping in my settings.

I would leave it enabled. The loudness might appear lower (and, actually, be lower) but that’s by design. You’re hearing what the sound engineer wanted you to hear, theoretically at least.

Plus, although Atmos from just a TV is a simulation of what Atmos can be… you should have at least some perceived added ambiance to the sound.

If you’re just using TV speakers it really doesn’t matter. If you have a soundbar or speaker setup you should passthrough instead.

I have TrueHD set to passthrough on my G2 w/ TV speakers, but usually just select the AC3 5.1 compatibility track for the loudness boost.

Think its been like 3-4 nightlies last week or so alone, so keep up the great work without support and updates there is nothing.

From 1080p to 4k movies, everything is buffering. I even set the memory size to 512MB but it still buffers. It works fine for the first 15-20 minutes, then buffering starts every 5 minutes. When I enabled debug logging, the cpu-kodi was over 100-150% while scrolling through movie posters but after starting the movie, it went down to 30%. I really don’t understand why this is happening.

Hi everyone.

I have recently bought some Auro-3D music files, in WAV format. My AVR, a Denon 3800, can decode Auro-3D from such WAV files and does so consistently from both foobar2000 and Kodi under Windows, using WASAPI output. Meaning that every time I play one of these files the AVR recognizes the input format as Auro-3D/PCM and proceeds to decode the format from the regular 5.1 that the file appears to be to the actual 5.1.4 Auro-3D content that is encoded withing the files.

My problem on AM6B+ is that this happens randomly. More than half of the times, I press play and the ACR receives regular PCM 5.1 content. Then, sometimes, I’d say no more than 25% of the times, it gets Auro-3D/PCM and decodes accordingly.
On the same file, on the same session, on the same machine, everything the same.

I have tried looking at debug logs, even activating audio and ffmpeg specific debugging but nothing jumps out as a cause, everything looks the same, between the times the file is outputted correctly and the times it isn’t.

The only thing I thought of is that, in Windows, if I don’t use WASAPI (meaning Windows resampling the audio), the same happens. That is regular PCM is received by the AVR, since it’s been “touched” by the resampling process.

So my question, before delving into the nightmare of really trying to debug this, is: is there any reason that comes to mind that would lead CoreELEC to output resampled PCM from WAV files in what appears to be a random fashion?

Cable is HDMI 2.1 Zeskit Maya, high quality as far as I know and capable of handling everything I throw at it. Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, DTS-X, Multichannel PCM, DolbyDigital Plus, DTS, DTS-HD MA, everything. So I strongly, very strongly doubt it could be the cable.

Should/could I open a bug? Is there any developer that has Auro-3D capable equipment?
The only thing that could explain this is WAV files not being decoded and bitstreamed perfectly most of the times. Because if I compress them to DTS-HD MA they always play back correctly, activating the Auro-3D decoder in the AVR.

Anybody tried playing large remux movies over WiFi, performance seems really poor.
Same movies I play over WiFi using in TV jellyfin app and it plays fine.

Also any tips on how to set up Cache, what’s best setting to choose.

Check the WiFi signal strength and link speed with iw dev wlan0 link, and if that looks good then check for actual transfer speeds with iperf. If all is good in both of these, then try changing your server as well as using a different client add-on in CE like Jellyfin or Mezzmo.

I hope you know how to ssh into the box, need to turn it on in the CE settings if you haven’t done it at the first time boot. Then use a computer on the same network to login through ssh into the box’s linux terminal.

iw dev wlan0 link works out of the box on the ssh terminal. You can install iperf as part of the network tools add-on, just search for iperf in the CE add-ons browser. And then follow this: https://serverfault.com/a/725999

For Jellyfin and Mezzmo add-ons, you can refer to their webpages on how to setup their repository add-on and then install the respective client.

Hi, I’m new to the forum and I’ve installed CoreELEC today.
I got DV running, menu support does not work with the Java add on installed.
I’ve set the menu setting to Play Movie for now till there is a fix for the menu not loading properly.
My question is when I’m playing a DV iso and go to Playerprocessinfo it shows Dolby Vision but under EOTF & Gamut it shows DV-Std BT.709 should this not be BT.2020?

BT. 709 is CE default. TV-led DV technically is neither 709 or 2020 so CE sends no colorimetry details and 709 is the HDMI fallback (iirc). If you want, you can change this by creating an autostart.sh file in configfiles location and placing the following there:

For no colorimetry

echo Y >
/sys/module/hdmitx20/parameters/dovi_tv_led_no_colorimetry

If you prefer to show bt.2020 then

echo Y >
/sys/module/hdmitx20/parameters/dovi_tv_led_bt2020

This is merely the colorimetry flag that is passed onto the TV, and generally makes no difference to output in vast majority of cases. In some older TVs though, there will be slight color differences.

For me, Blu-ray menu doesn’t play with BDMV folders through network playback. It only works with USB. I haven’t tested ISOs.

Even through USB, I have seen some Menus play and some don’t. Will only get an option to choose one of the available titles in addition to the main movie.

I’m trying to move my coreelec install from the internal storage of the AM6+ to an external USB SSD. I’ve made a backup using the coreElec confitguration addon onto the usb drive, but I cant figure out what to do next. Can someone point me to a how-to or provide the next step(s)? I’m stuck!

Sorry, said that wrong… I used the CoreELEC eMMC installation tool to copy the system install to usb… do I need to remove from internal (and how) or ??
