[S922X] Ugoos AM6(+), Help & Support

I am getting no picture on DV 4k 60hz files on coreleec nightly with am6b plus.
When I force the picture to 1080p the picture is displayed.

Is this a known issue?

How do you “force” 1080p picture display?

You disable picture resolution switching and set the resolution manually to 1080p.

If you read instructions for running DV on AM6B+ you’d see that the screen (GUI) resolution should be set to 1080p. So, everything OK on your side, that is how it should be.
FYI, screen resolution is only for GUI renderer and does not matter for video renderer resolution.

No, if the video resolution is switched off, the video resolution would be set to the GUI resolution. (You can whitelist for example 1080p 60hz and not whitelist the 4k 60hz resolution to test this.

No, not in instructions and not on my AM6B+; GUI is set to 1080p, and ALL 4k DV videos are played at native 4k/UHD resolutions, without any whitelist which I don’t use. Using whitelist brings other possibilities into the play.
And JFYI, There is no native 4K GUI on -ng versions, because of kernel limitations.

I don’t understand where is confusion.

You can use process info to see resolution at which video is played. If you play Dolby 60fps on 4k resolution with 60hz there will be blank picture on thee screen. If you force the screen resolution to 1080p60hz you will see downscaled video picture. How is this not clear? You can test yourself.

Don’t need to test anything, I have picture playing DV 4k/60fps, shown in PPinfo and also output to my TV in same resolution/fps while my GUI is set to 1080p/60Hz.
So, no problem at my end…

same here, running UI at 1080p 120Hz, when playing 4K DV videos it shows 4K resolution and so on…

Confusion is probably your use of whitelist. Remove everything from it and see if it behaves differently.

I dont know if this is the correct forum to post this. I was thinking about getting the am6b+ for plex content but im reading at a lot of places that its basically EOL. But what does that mean because unless there are new codec stuff should still work, or is there a chance the pm4k could stop working because of a plex update and i would need to directly play stuff from the server?

it depends what type of EOL. If it’s hardware - then afaik it’s still in production, though the SoC is not very new (you can double check with Ugoos directly about the status of this model). If it’s software, then the 4.9 kernel (that supports FEL) for it is EOL and will remain on CE 21.x at least officially. The software development will continue for it, but using a newer 5.15 kernel (NO platform) that unifies support for a lot of devices but cannot do FEL and should be supported in a foreseeable future (CE 22+).

In this time is HW acceleration of many videos (and iptv streams) corrupted at CE22NO. Last good build CE22NO with HW acceleration for Ugoos AM6+ was from 20. december 2024 with kernel 5.15.119.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Help, support CPM build

Use CE NG with your box, as local files to play Dolby Vision full performance.
When this version of CE would be EOL, still can use many years, as it now.
Not see any issue with that.

Hello everyone,
I have a stuttering/pausing problem when playing a 4K remux (in DV profile 7 FEL I don’t know if this has an impact)
Randomly and approximately every 10 minutes the video jerks or cuts off then resumes 30 seconds later
I read my files locally on a 4TB USB 2.0 HDD

My cache settings:

  • Buffer mode : all
  • Read factor : adaptative (i’ve try on X10 but same problem)
  • Memory size :128mo

Do you know what this could come from?
Thank you for your help

Try setting chunk size to 1MB

Thanks for your help but it still remains

Hello, new to the forum. I have flashed CoreElec onto the emmc on my am6b+ but I am currently unable to get dolby vision playback, and just getting the hdr fallback. I followed instructions from the wiki to the best of my ability and am pulling my hair out. Are there any obvious things I can check to see if they are missing and where to look? I am connected to an LG C9 with a verified highbandwidth hdmi 2.1 cable.
