2 Ugoos plugged to 2 different avrs here, no sync issues ever, at least not with mkvs.

Can you send me your guisettings.xml please? I would like to compare with mine.

All of a sudden, during a video database refresh, my second Ugoos AM6b+ went black. I have already tried to connect it to a different TV with different HDMI cable (that works just fine with the first box I bought), no change.

Although I had the “not defined” messages, defining them didn’t change a thing.

I can SSH into the machine no problem. Please help!

This new machine has been with me for three or four days.

I think it must be a hardware problem, unfortunately, as not even the Amlogic logo is shown at boot. I am now following the guide to go back to straight Android (doing a backup beforehand, as suggested). I’ll then do two things:

  1. Try to boot from Android and see what happens. My guess is nothing, as I believe the problem lies in the HDMI connection (already tried a perfectly working cable as well, as mentioned).
  2. Try to boot on the working machine remaining from the USB disk where I am doing the backup from the faulty one. If it works, I suppose it’s safe to say that it’s a hardware problem, right?

Hi everyone, I got my Ugoos a few days ago, followed the guide and everything was working as expected but out of nowhere any file with DTS doesn’t sound at all. I have a soundbar (compatible with every single audio format) connected to my tv (s90c) in the earc port but I can’t make it work, it did sound a couple of times without problems.

Any idea of what could be the problem here? I changed the audio output in my tv (automatic and passthrough) and on kodi but nothing works.

Use direct connect to soundbar first, then you will able to hear dts?

My LG G2 has audio options on each HDMI input, either “Bitstream” or “PCM”. Make sure it is set to Bitstream, not sure what the equivalent for that is on Sony

just a general warning for the ugoos amb6+ order process via official store if you are in Europe (or probably anywhere but in CN)

I love coreelec, I love kodi and I love the box and dv picture quality. so I ordered a second one.

parcel never made it behind Bremen Germany, because it was damaged and dhl is not allowed to deliver damaged goods.

a. that was clearly visible in the tracking.
b. it was also obvious that I cannot do anything with dhl
c. it was also visible that the standard from ugoos store is set to destruction and that they have to pay return costs (which they obviously don’t want to pay)

  1. +2 weeks nothing from ugoos store, I wrote several emails that they should send another one or refund the money
  2. +10 days they are telling me I have to call dhl and tell them they should deliver (I tried anyway… )
  3. +10 days they are telling me they cannot reach their shipping handler and that I should resist on delivery and that they don’t have other ones. they are not even considering a refund

more than 5 weeks after the delivery process was started I’m not getting any emails or money or a new shipment. only 5 times the same crap and so far they have done everything to do nothing.

I also wrote James several times. name came up here in the forum as a good contact…

that’s fraud. case is at PayPal and mastercard now. stay away and take minxx is my advice

ps last request days ago was I have to close the case at PayPal they cannot do anything while it’s open, haha very funny

now ugoos send me an mail saying the 100th time that I was resisting the delivery.

the communication is 100% meaningless

for the sake of completeness, this dhl chat screenshot and some more were send to ugoos on June 17th, several times.

translated. it says: I cannot do anything. package damaged. sender has to decide

Isn’t here 100% DHL resposibility? Which means they should cover all the expenses and also do whatever is needed. Customer has nothing with damage and also not the ugoos.

I guess it was a bad packaging like my first one that barely had something around with delivery. but it’s anyway not dhl with international shipping. if it would I guess no service would take any package anymore? Who knows which band or worker was throwing it the first time…

fact is I cannot do anything with dhl. and ugoos can.
for weeks they can either pay for the return or do nothing to get it automatically destructed

Too late for you, but for anyone else reading this thread, it’s best to use Aliexpress. They cover return shipping back to China for any return and much easier to deal with

I’ve purchased 6 of these boxes so far from different stores - PlayTV on Aliexpress has been the fastest/best packaged.

My experience was completely different, the Ugoos folks shipped it using DHL, I received it less than 2 weeks later and it didn’t even stop in customs when it entered europe. Excellent service.

When using the direct connection via HDMI to the TV and back via ARC, there are no sync problems. I will therefore now use it this way.

This has not been my experience with the AM6B+ or Odroid N2. As it happens on both devices makes you wonder if it’s an Amlogic or CE and/or Kodi issue.

Problem is it is not reproducible, at least that is what I’m finding.

Thing is, they don’t cover return shipping. A friend had an issue with one of the boxes and while they agreed to a refund, they wouldn’t pay for the shipping back.

So if anything goes wrong, you’ll pay for that out of pocket vs using even the Ugoos official store on Aliexpress.

my first one was even faster. not even a week.

I also had a very good experience with them - as long as there is no problem / no contact / communication - so maybe I don’t want to call it experience, it’s just a web order and a parcel…

yeah and of course you want a tracking / insurance for the return… at least I would want that after my experience I would expect the worse. that means 30 eur at least to CN I guess

Since I also have and use both of this boxes (HDMI connected to TV and via ARC to AV Receiver) and have absolutely NO sync problems, I’d say it’s your TV/AV receiver problem, not Amlogic or CE problem.

That is what is so odd, some people have no issues even when using the same hardware. This issue is not new, see here.

Plus it happens, at least with me, with various TV’s and Hardware hence I don’t believe it to be a TV/AV issue. The only common thing is CE/Kodi and maybe Amlogic.

As I said previously, it is very intermittent and hard to track down. It can be OK for weeks before the sync issues happen again.
