This could be the case, as I released button as soon as I see the Amlogic logo is displayed. I will try it again tonight.
By the way, what is about the remote.conf file? Can you elaborate more as I am new.

Remote config is not critical
However you will need a means to navigate system when CoreELEC boots
I use Logitech K400 Plus wireless usb dongle Keyboard to navigate for inititial setup
Then can add Remote config after
Also can use generic wireless keyboard/mouse
If you have available
Use uSD Card to boot CoreELEC
So can free up USB Ports for wireless dongle
Happy Testing
To use the remote control under CoreELEC, the remote.conf file, just like the dovi.ko and the dtb.img, must be placed in the root of the SD or stick.
But that’s also stated in the instructions.
How long do I have to keep pressing the recovery button? I have kept pressing it for about 3 minutes and I still can’t get the CoreElec screen to appear. Instead, now below picture is in a loop for being displayed for about 20 seconds and goes for 5 seconds and then appear again. What else could be wrong?
Note, this is related with post 976 which has different behavior because I released ‘recovery’ button too quickly.
Thank you!
Thank you, will try that.
The CoreELEC installation probably overlaps with the Android recovery or an Android update.
I would first remove the SD card or USB stick and repair the original Android. Only once that’s working again can you proceed with installing CoreELEC from the SD card or USB stick.
Appreciate the instruction. I am wondering why the Android update doesn’t happen when boot into Ugoos OS. Can I do something to avoid flashing the firmware?
Make sure you are pressing the correct button labeled ‘Recovery’ and not the other one (Maskrom).
Looks like I need to flash the Ugoos firmware (img) which requires a USB-A to USB-A OTG cable. I searched AMazon and can’t find such cable. Does anyone have a link for the product? Thanks in advance.
you just need usb a to usb a, nothing special.
You don’t need USB Cable.
There are other ways to recover.
Reflashing firmware from recovery menu:
Insert usb flash drive with OTA update package in Box
Hold recovery button and turn on the device
In recovery menu choose option “update from ext”
I can’t find the OTA package for AM6bP I have. The only choice is the img file and the flashing too. Is my understanding correct?
Thank you, Gilgamesh and Sholander. The reason I am asking about OTG cable is that the flashing instruction calls out it. If normal USB A to A cable works, I will try it out tomorrow.
Try
Android 9 firmware V. 0.4.1 for AM6B full OTA
But I want to use 0.5.4n which is the latest.
You repair your system with version 0.4.1, then start Android TV and let the system update automatically over the internet. All without a USB cable and only takes a few minutes.
I also see that only v.0.4.1 OTA exists on their download site, but I have in achieve v.0.5.4 OTA. Version 0.5.4 OTA can be found here
In any browser/ Big G exp…type in
