[S922X] Ugoos AM6(+), Help & Support

Read more carefully what @jbaevea wants, OTA version, not .img

The latest OTA is v.0.5.4 found here

Very Good

Originally he was talking about USB male to male cable and Burning Tool.

Thank you, everyone who has tried to help me in resolving what I have experienced which is explained in post 976 and 982. Today, I decided to try smaller USB drive before I go on for flashing the firmware as I found out that the USB drive I used at the beginning is 128GB. Well, It worked with a 4GB USB2 drive. But I still don’t understand why the 32GB microSD card didn’t work either. Apparently, the Android Bot is actually displayed when booting from the USB drive the 1st time and immediately after that, about 10 seconds, the CoreElec logo is displayed if everything goes smooth. I believe that the reason for the boot process to loop with S922X and Android Bot logo is because either the file on the drive can’t be accessed or executed.

Most probably that uSD card is not working properly, because 32GB is the proper size to be used.

Yes, that is how it should work the first time CE boots, and every time after that, when you boot CE.

I can’t find out how clock is configured. I set time zone to US Pacific but the time shown on Kodi screen is about 7 hours ahead, looks like UTC time.
[Resolved] In Kodi Reginal setting

I am using Valerion Pro2 projector. If I set Dovi as TV-led, the color space shown on the screen is BT709 which means BT709 tunning mode is used. If I set it as PLay-led, BT2020 is shown. Which setting works better, or doesn’t matter?

If your projector properly supports TV-Led, that should give you the best results, as the video data is bitstreamed to projector and it will perform tone mapping for the best picture it can produce.

Thank you for the quick response. Much appreciated.

Weird little ‘glitch’ that I assume is just a ram/cache issue but wanted to check.

When watching a 4k remux from a 100GB disc, after 15-30 minutes or so the video will pause for a few seconds. then fast forward however many seconds it was paused to catch back up with the correct time.

Every chunk size setting I could find I set to the 1MB setting, I think that was the max on all of them if it wasnt I set it to whatever the max was.

Settings->Services->Caching:
buffer mode is set to buffer all
read factor is adaptive
memory size is 64MB
chunk size 1MB

Basically followed the reddit guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/1ajszn9/comment/l2ptghe/

Like i said not a huge issue i can just hit rewind a few seconds and im fine. Just curious if I was right about the reasons it happened.

How, or from where, are you playing such high bitrate videos? Looks like network / connectivity issue. Try with completely disabling Cache in Settings; it’s not always needed.

Plex server via pm4k, hardwired ethernet connection. the same videos work fine on the other players on the house via plex too. not a big issue just a little weird

You might need a more powerful SoC like S928X.
I have some 4k sample video stutter on any device, but not on S928X. Same location, same TV, same cable.

But it’s about a bit rate >100MBit/s played from NAS over SMB.

Does anyone know what to expect with wifi bandwidth? I’m afraid I may have screwed something up.

I’ve run countless iperf tests on different devices in my house, close and far to my access point. All of my devices get ~500Mbits/s when sending/receiving TCP packets except the Ugoos AM6b+, which averages 40Mbits/s. The UDP receiving rate seems to be on par with other devices. I’ve tried this on both coreelec and the android 9 OS that shipped with the device. Same result on both OSes.

can that still do FEL dv? If not I’ll just deal with a stutter and rewind every now and again. Especially since only a handful of movies really hit it.

Regardless thank you for the information it’ll be fun to look into if nothing else. maybe write some code to play around with even

No FEL on S928…

I used to play >100Mbps video on a S905X without an issue, not sure why it would stutter on newer hardware. It’s likely a network issue.

I didnt realize only one of the usb ports was usb 3.0. I will try pulgging my usb 3.0 to gigabit ethernet adapter into that this weekend. Even if it doesnt fix it i would much prefer to get the full gigabit speed of the adapter I paid for instead of <480mbps

I have a very odd behavior with am6b+ for which I am still trying to get it to full working condition. I have tested several DV+FEL movie and everything works fine. However when I play some HDR10 movie, my PJ, Valerion Pro2 displays “no or weak HDMI signal” and the screen goes blank. For some HDR10 movie, I can press stop button on the remote which gets me back to PM4K screen.

However there is one HDR10 movie, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024), which causes coreelec to not respond at all. Once it happens, I will never be able to get coreelec to boot up and show the Kodi screen and I need to create the coreelec from scratch to the USB drive and ‘recovery’ button to boot into coreelec. If I write Coreelec into eMMC, I will have to re-flash Ugoos firmware to get it back.

By the way, playing the same movie is fine if I use Firestick, with the same receiver which is Onkyo NR7100.

Has anyone else has such experience? I wonder whether this is caused by the PJ or the movie, which I attached the link to the media info here, or Ugoos box. What can I try to get it working.

By the way, I have tried changing the color space as well as bit depth in Kodi settings → Systems → Video and the behavior doesn’t change.

I tried another projector, Optoma UHD52ALV with different HDMI cable and the sympom is the same. Did I get a faulty Ugoos or is there something wrong in the Kodi settings?

I am using the latest stable build of Coreelec, v21.2.
