Hi guys, I put CoreELEC on my Ugoos AM6+ yesterday and turned on CEC so my LG magic remote works with it. I didn’t yet pair the ugoos remote, since I was just quickly setting everything up.
Then this morning I couldn’t get the remote to work with it at all… I tried everything; rebooting my Ugoos a million times, rebooting the TV, unplugging and plugging the HDMI cable back in again, resetting the external device settings… I cannot get the remote to work.
I think I messed up because now I can’t use the box at all and I can’t reset it because I need the remote for that as well, which isn’t working… Is there anything I can do? Is there a way to hard reset it or to boot into android again so I can pair a remote? Or anyone who has an LG TV and knows to get the CEC working again so I can use my LG remote and pair the Ugoos remote as a backup?
I was thinking, is there maybe something I can put on a USB and plug it in the Ugoos and force it to boot into Android or reset it that way?
If you put the correct remote.conf file on your USB stick, you should be able to control the box using the original remote through infrared (which doesn’t need pairing).
Oh wow thank you! I had shoved the box in a corner while I was testing stuff so it couldn’t use infrared. I feel so stupid now lol.
Also just figured out that somehow the CEC got disabled in the Coreelec settings… Maybe I accidentally turned it off while changing some stuff but now I even got the LG remote to work again. Thanks for your help!!
When i watch videos (be it a remuxed MKV or fully ripped 4K) with Kodi, after a while (can be 30 minutes, can be 10 minutes or even seconds; totally random), the video freezes and locks up the device. The subtitles will keep going for a while but the video and audio just stops.
My internet speed (connected through the LAN cable) isn’t the issue. I can easily stream movies with my laptop or even phone over wifi. I have not changed anything on my router, NAS, cables, network switch or anything.
Tried messing with the cache settings, no luck.
This comes out of the blue; i’ve watched 100+ movies on this device and nothing changed in my setup/configuration/network over the last months…
I do get a “ConnectionError: TMDb” sometimes, could this be interrupting the video? I can’t remove or disable this add-on in Kodi.
Anybody here that can help with this?
edit: I’m playing some movies right now and logging everything. Hopefully i can see what is happening.
edit2: And ofcourse now it plays 5 movies without freezing up. Don’t know what caused the crashes last time.
I have the same issue with the same receiver, Onkyo nr7100 and Hisense UX85. I found setting bit depth to 8bit fixed it although not ideal. Looking for a solution as well
New here and got all setup on CoreElec now using PlexKodiConnect.
I’ve got one issue that I can’t wrap my head around. Certain Dolby Vision content, will display the black bars on top of the OSD. It means it’s impossible to see the player processing info fully, and the osd codecs at the top left are always cut off.
I haven’t seen anyone else mention this problem before, so if anyone has any advice it would be great.
HDR to SDR tone mapping on AM6B+ with Omega 21.2 omega - there are tonemapping curves / profile settings available in Video Settings during playback ie Hable, ACES Filmic… when amcodec hwaccel is disabled. Is it possible to change these settings to apply when amcodec is enabled? It seems to revert to default profile. Thanks
Exact same issue using Estuary, as with Arctic Zephyr Reloaded. (A14)
One thing that did work for me was turning off the source levels metadata. I don’t know why this worked, but appears to have completely solved the problem…
Thanks for the tips - ok I am running 21.2 omega nightly 20250327 amlogic-ng - to be clear the tonemapping is working properly. I just wanted to know if there is a way to change the tonemapping options for amcodec hwaccel. Plex Player i am using is PM4K 0.7.9-rev4 - default skin also - movie I am testing with is HEVC dolby vision HDR I am not sure more details than that
Hi. I have the AM6B+ and using one of the latest nightlies of CoreElec NG 21.2 and according to the S922X specs, it should decode AVC/H264 Level 5.1 4K@30 FPS but I have crazy stuttering on my 4K AVC 29.97 fps and 4K AVC 30 fps videos. The 4K AVC 23.976, 4K 24 and 4K 25 videos seems to play fine. It says it decodes using the HW decoder during playback. Is that normal for S922X ? Is the AVC HW decoder just bad for 4K 29.97 and 4K 30?
I know AMLOGIC in general does not HW decode 4K 50 and 4K60 AVC videos (even the S928X does not) but it should decode 4k 29.97 and 4K 30 correctly.
