[S922X] Ugoos AM6(+), Help & Support

A post was merged into an existing topic: Help, support CPM build

Hi, I’m curious if anyone can confirm my conclusions or knows any workaround.

I followed this guide: [Guide] S922X-J (Ugoos AM6b+) CoreELEC installation and FAQs

I have the following two possible connection setups:

#1: Ugoos AM6B+ → Samsung HW-990F Soundbar → LG G5 TV
#2: Ugoos AM6B+ → LG G5 TV

In scenario #2, Dolby Vision works fine, all good.
In scenario #1 however, Dolby Vision does not work, for profile 7 / 8 at least. I am getting purple / green colors, as if Dolby Vision is not properly set up. However, the System Information section in Kodi says that I do have DV capability, and I do see the DV settings under CoreElec.

Looking at the specs, both my LG TV and my Samsung soundbar support Dolby Vision.
I suspect that my Samsung soundbar however does not support DV FEL, and hence this issue when it’s used as passthrough. Does anyone know more about this or can confirm it? Or am I missing something?

For clarity, the reason I would ideally want video to be passed through the soundbar is that LG decided to annoyingly cut off support for DTS audio with the G5, so going through the soundbar fixes that.

Use hdmi audio extractor. The video and the sound go to the tv untouched, and the second hdmi port from the extractor just go to the soundbar, its just passtrough the sound.

With Audio Extractor you will lost the CEC Function. So I have send my Audio Extractor back to Amazon. It was a tryout, because I had have a Pioneer AV Receiver VSX-LX303 without DV and more. Now a have a Denon A10H without any problems.

Actually the extractor solved the problem for me! CEC got messed up at first but it got solved after power cycling all devices, following the order from the extractor’s manual. So at least for controlling the volume on my soundbar it seems to work fine now.

That an amazing AV receiver though! Do you have a passive speaker setup or just using a soundbar?

Worth mentioning that there are several good audio extractors out there. The latest one I helped my friend with is using the OREI BK-927 (8K HDMI eARC Audio Extractor) to $80. Everything works perfectly from a 2022 Samsung TV! Complete eARC from TV to 10+ years old AVR and a S905X4 CE box connected to the TV. So lossless Atmos 7.1 audio and HDR10+ video, which the AVR does not support. We are using one TV remote rather than having three to four remotes as well since TV wakes up AVR on start-up, CE on HDMI 1, Google TV on HDMI 3 etc.

I think my FeinTech AX211 is an exact clone of that!

My only complaint with it is that 4K 120Hz doesn’t work with it from my gaming PC, even though people review this as working fine. It only works if I go all the way down to 4:2:0 colors. 4:2:2 doesn’t work.

It might be because I have a Hue Sync Box in between them, perhaps too many nodes, leading to bandwidth loss.

Hello CE Team. I have the ugoos am6b+, i’d like to try the CE-NO build, what’s the proper dovi.ko file to put during installation and is it playing all DV profile (excpet DV P7 FEL) ? Thank you.

yes thats true

All except 2160p profile 10 …maybe

I use Speaker 7.1.4: Bose Acoustimass 7, 2x Acoustimass 5, 2x Teufel Reflekt Atmos, Aktiv Yamaha YST SW 150 Bass

I recently got this device and it seems to be running fine but can’t play some Dolby Vision movies. One that works for me is “Wall-E”

Some movies like “Spinal Tap”, “Isle of Dogs” don’t seem to work, and only play audio when I try to play it. When I disable Dolby Vision in the settings the files play fine in HDR. Player-led causes the colors to be weird and TV-led shows a black screen.

Trying to play it on a LG C5 TV.

Is there a setting I am missing?

What your kodi video settings ? Do you copied the right dovi.ko, to the root of coreelec installation?

It is set to dolby vision enabled and TV-led

I copied the dovi.ko from the guide.
