I updated to nightly 20200405 with the aim to try out tvheadend 4.3 as it is stated it is now included in the changelog. Didn’t find it though. Does it mean that if I want tvheadend 4.3 I have to compile it from master branch?
It’s there on 20200406 (and maybe 20200405)
If you look at the information about the addon it will state 4.3 and if you fire up your PC browser and select the about tab on the interface, it will also state the new version number.
It works fine and comskip is even more accurate than before.
I checked out but it is still at 4.2:

I have updated to 20200406 on my three amlogic boxes and can’t find tvh4.3 on any of them. Maybe I could try with a new install
It was compiled for KI Po S905D, for kernel 3.14.29
Certainly for some people it will not work!

It does not update tvheadend42 but creates a new installation!
Disable tvheadend42 and configure tvheadend43.
Your version doesn’t work. It gives an error.
However, I saw the text as well about TVH4.3 shall be available. Is it the case now or not? I would like to have a TVH that sees updates from time to time.

You have to update your addons and then install it from the repository.
4.2 will not update to 4.3, it is a separate add-on.

Hi all,
Sorry but I’m confused. I have N2 with 9.2.1 and TVH 4.2. Yes the repository has TVH 4.3 too.
Is the recommendation to uninstall/disable 4.2 and install 4.3 or not. Or, should I just leave things as they are?

This tvheadend4.3 version will never be official. (And for testing)
And for some people who have other needs. (and like tests).
Please continue on the official version if you are not this person!
If use is simple, keep everything like this! avoid problems.

There is no recommendations, both versions are available in the repository for users to decide for themselves.

Sorry but I can’t find it in the addons list. If I search for tvheadend I only find tvheadend42.
In which repository is it supposed to be?

You can choose. Personally, I am using 4.3 quite a time for now. Although, do not use both in the same time.
Please note, all your settings should be compatible between 42<->43 just fine, you can use your configs (like muxes, channels, etc.) from tvheadend42 to tvheadend43 just by copying correct ones to the correct new folder within userdata folder.

Try to update CE addon repository for any updates.

Looks like addons has not been getting built for nightly for some time, looking into it.
TVH 4.3 is definitely in stable repository though.
