Ugoos AM6B+ DV and ethernet issues

I have a AM6B+ and it is having ethernet issues. If I use DHCP it wont respect the setting to wait for connection before proceeding and it loads up instantly and then plex wont connect and there is no way to force restart plex and it is completely borked until I reboot and make sure ethernet is up first.

If I disable DHCP and manually set the IP and default gateway and DNS everything comes up quickly and plex has no problem. This seems like a bug.

Also, I have a LG C2 and tv/display-led FEL is not working. There is big black blotches in the wrong place. Activating player-led fixes this. Is there any way to get the tv led working? I am on the latest nightly. (hopefully not a passthrough issue with the Denon AVR?)

The last few nighties have broken FEL. The last known working nightly was 21/10

It is not a bug, but more glitch or something, because it involves the router to which AM6B+ is connected. With some router models DHCP works OK, as fast as with manual IP settings, and on some it behaves like in your case.
I experience this because I use the same box on two routers, with such behavior; one needs fixed address settings and other does not mind which settings I use…

Except others are having random ethernet issues with the ugoos running coreelec (and not android) also, and the fact every other device does just fine with my routers DHCP server which as far as I know is a pretty vanilla implementation of the DHCP standard.

Also when there is a setting to wait until the connection comes up it is a bug if it doesn’t wait.

How do we know this? FEL seems to work if I turn player LED on. At least I don’t get any errors? How can we tell if FEL is working or not? plus if this is the case how can I download this nightly? I don’t see October in the releases still.

Like all others, install a skin that shows Dolby Vision info in “Player process info” overlay.

Any info on how to find such a skin or where to get this nightly you mention? Thanks.

I found the nightly in case anyone is interested, now to find the skin… Index of /Amlogic-ng/CE-21/20241021/

Trying to browse through a topic that goes back 5 years with hundreds of posts to find out how to debug this is asinine.

Also, will this fix tv-led?

There are reports on the nightly thread that the most recent release has fixed this. I’m not home at present though so haven’t had a chance to check myself.

Can you tell me how to go about finding this skin which can tell me if it is working so I can test it myself? I am running the newest nightly. A link to documentation or a guide would suffice.

There are test files kicking around (have a look on the nightly thread). I’ve started to do an a/b comparison with the discs which are known to be P7 FEL although in some cases it’s immediately apparent. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and La La Land have fairly obvious colour differences for example appearing less vibrant and a bit washed out on my tv.

Using the FEL test files I can confirm FEL is working on my device with the latest nightly.

Unrelated to this, when auto-starting plex on startup none of the icons are loading.

Also, randomly (it just happened again) the ugoos resets the resolution and then I have to set it to 1080p and then reboot, and then it will let me set it to 4k again, and then I can turn back on player-led.

Furthermore tv-led FEL is still bugging out and has random black blobs on my LG C2. Please help!

I don’t have an issue with TV-led on my LG G2. Plug your box directly to the TV to eliminate the avr.

Icons not loading in Plex (assuming you are using PM4K) is an issue with plex.direct bindings.

Either make an exception for that in your router, or use PM4K to add those exceptions:

PM4K also has an auto start delay, so you can just set that and give time for things to connect first.

I played one movie with FEL directly to my TV and that seemed to work. I will try more to see if it is the Denon causing the issue. At any rate this seems to be a bug with Denon or something because this should work with passthrough.

The new issue is I cannot keep it directly plugged into my tv because the C2 doesn’t support DTS passthrough :frowning:

Any solution to the resolution that keeps resetting on the ugoos? It happened again last night.

I got my Rii remote working to power on the ugoos also yesterday. A couple more pieces here and this might be a pretty good setup…

Audio splitter should solve for this issue if you need to feed in the HDMI signal separately to TV and AVR.

At that rate I might as well just get the C3 77 inch motherboard and swap it into the C2 to get the DTS passthrough. I already tried this with my 48 inch and it works. The whole board used is going for around $60 on ebay.

That works? Very interesting. Wonder what other LG TVs that will work on. G2 → G3 would be a sweet upgrade.

I can’t tell you if it works with the G3/G2 but if you look up the motherboard for each and they are pretty much the same it would likely work. I also cannot tell you if it actually changes the display brightness that might be determined by the tboard or the panel. I also put a C1 board in my C2 and got the game mode 240hz blanking setting thing back (BFI) (albeit the connector for the IR/power button is different on the C1). If someone could dump the firmware for all of them maybe we could all have DTS passthrough and the 240hz blanking thing.

Following up on this, I have not seen any setting to let plex wait until the network comes up. This is broken every boot.

Also, I got the 77 C3 motherboard in. The two ribbon cables to the tcon board have shrunk connector size between c2 models. I have the ribbon cables coming in now to test if I don’t need to also replace the tcon board.
