Ugoos AM9 Pro - SoC S6 S905X5-J

thank you!

I was using Balena also but in Win11 I was getting unreliable results. So now I use Rufus.

Hey everyone,

I just got the UGOOS AM9 Pro and I’m looking for the best microSD card to boot CoreELEC from.

Any recommendations for something reliable and fast? Mainly looking for good stability and boot performance.

Would really appreciate your suggestions :blush:
Thanks!

AM9 Pro with build 20260513, all paired bluetooth devices are missing after reboot, including the UR 02 remote. Repaired/rebooted multiple times, same issue. dmesg: hxxps://pastebin.com/yeG0ZSkh (I have to modify the link as I’m a new user and can’t have a link or attach a file to my post)

I don’t think ā€œbestā€ exists. Just get a modern fast microsd.

Anybody else updated Android from 2.0.6 to 2.0.9 und succesfully runs CE ?

And what can be done if suspend/resume is not working ? Shutdown Ugoos ?

Yes, CE is working on 2.0.9 too
For Suspend/resume issue shutdown or reboot solves an issue

3 ā€œstupidā€ questions:

a) better to go in Android first, do the update and then install CE for the first time ?

b) to do the first boot in CE, i use the recovery or Maskrom hole on the bottom side of AM9 PRo ?

c) will Suspend/resume issue be eventually solved someday ?

5 posts were split to a new topic: CoreELEC eMMC installer for Ugoos AM9

a) yes

b) recovery

I have AM9 updated to latest firmware.

Suspend fails on resume.

So I reverted to TV CEC commands for turning off and turning on my AM9

AM9 Pro with the 20260514 build, I got some random 5 seconds black screen basically for all DV movies I played. It’s not at the fixed timestamp when these black screen happened. Some movies have these just several minutes of playing, some will be like after 40 minutes of playing. When checking Kodi log, I see something like these:

2026-05-15 21:05:53.692 T:3844    error <general>: CAMLCodec::GetPicture: time elapsed since last frame: 5002ms (11:Resource temporarily unavailable)

2026-05-15 21:20:27.533 T:3844    error <general>: CAMLCodec::GetPicture: time elapsed since last frame: 5001ms (11:Resource temporarily unavailable)

2026-05-15 21:25:12.820 T:3844    error <general>: CAMLCodec::GetPicture: time elapsed since last frame: 5001ms (11:Resource temporarily unavailable)

2026-05-15 21:26:54.548 T:3844    error <general>: CAMLCodec::GetPicture: time elapsed since last frame: 5001ms (11:Resource temporarily unavailable)

Is this a known issue? If not, what’s the steps to get the useful debug log for investigating the issue?

Repeat with next nightly.

Seems I found the trick to run CoreELEC on USB drive for AM9 Pro (Or may be this is well known, but I’m not aware of it). I tried to install CoreELEC to USB drive, just like microSD, but it was never able to boot from the USB drive, so I’m using microSD always. But today I found if I have both the USB drive (with CoreELEC in it) and the microSD inserted in, and power on (which will boot from microSD), then power off the system, and pop up the microSD, then power on again, the system will boot from USB drive (power off and on another time will just boot to Android as USB drive boot failed again). It’s hard to find a high speed microSD card, so I prefer USB drive if possible.

This is known, reported issue. Only cold boot does work to boot from USB. It’s a bootloader issue.
Ugoos need to fix it.

Does Ugoos know about this bug, or what’s the best way to report it?

Is there a chance the bug crept in later and that version 2.0.6 works better than version 2.0.9?

On my USB drive it starts CE 3-4 times out of 5 attempts
Ugoos knows, but you can ping them too about this issue :grinning_face:

My own Ugoos AM9 Pro just arrived in Germany. Without any testing of my own, I have to rely on your word, lest I end up saying something wrong again, like what happened in the AVS forum.

One person says it works, then another says it doesn’t. The next person says it definitely worked for someone before version 2.0.9, and so on.

With such conflicting information, I can’t contact Ugoos support directly.

Once my AM9 Pro arrives, I’ll test version 2.0.6, then 2.0.8, and I’ll install a power outlet with a switch in front of the AM9 Pro.

They have very detailed information and it is up to them to fix, ask for more info, …

I do have some workaround but I think doesn’t work 100% reliably either.
