X96 X4 - S905X4 based box - any success?

Looking at my settings
Have seen this before

  1. Wired eth0 state ready

Below this is status of wifi.
And other networks

What is state of wifi?
Read as ready or idle?

Read as ready
Then click on wifi and disconnect.

Should change state as idle

All Wifi works but have been disabled completely to test with Wired connection only.

as a prosthesis can such a usb network card? … apparently it is on the rtl8153 chip
but I haven’t personally checked!

Does it need a driver or is it just plug and play?

Okay
Not what i was referring to.

From your post only issue was when
Hard boot/ loss of power

So i reproduce on Hk1x4 box

Looks like system defaults to saved wifi

In connection you will see both
Eth0
Wifi
Show Ready

That is not online

Box/systems is reading from wifi ip address
With correct mac
Even though shows Ready state not Online

Click on wifi
Disconnect

Now eth0 will change from Ready to
Online

If that makes sense

Happy Testing

I’ve tried everything but it doesn’t work.
I also tried to install on eMMC but it didn’t work:
“Install in single boot mode not possible!
No DT partition was found”
This TV box doesn’t look good. Well, I have to give up.

All S905X4 boxes use single boot only right now.

Dont give up yet

As emmveepee posted
Can single install emmc only
No dual boot…

Also you posted
Coming back from Android
You working ethernet…

Un plug ethernet cable
Go back to wifi

Create desktop shortcut to network device
With wifi ip address.

Then can ssh to box

Post logs etc…

Team CoreELEC will help out
Follow troubleshooting instructions

Happy Testing

I do not know 100% after connecting the model based on Realtek RTL8153 will work on CE but you can search and ask on the forum

or maybe earlier information for CE developers
https://wiki.coreelec.org/coreelec:term_share

Yes, I want single boot only but when I used command: ceemmc -x, selected single boot, I got this message:
“Install in single boot mode not possible!
No DT partition was found”

Do you mean using dmesg in SSH?

Yes
Use wifi ip address in Putty/Kitty

**When i first set box up
I create 2 desktop shortcuts
One with wifi ip
The other with eth ip

Then in Kodi/CoreELEC i go to File
Ans add source

Team CoreELEC can do nothing without logs.

Follow the guide from Home page

** apologies for the confusion/desktop shortcut has nothing to do with Putty Sessions.
That is only my Method of Madness

Happy Testing

Did you try using the NE version of Coreelec? The NG version does not work. I have installed the NE version to emmc and then downgraded to the NG version of Coreelec 20 rc2.

Everything is going well today

with CoreElec NE 20, eth0 automatically connect to the internet at 1000mbps.

install on eMMC in single mode OK

Thank you CE team and everyone who commented.

There is some issue with analog audio output.
When i put a stereo 3.5mm headphone jack into the AV port,
i can hear stereo while on android at same time from TV speakers and from headphones/ analog speakers, but not on coreelec ng nightly 20 (recent version from yesterday),
even if i set audio output to analog audio out 2ch.
But also HDMI audio then is off, so no sound at all.

This is no problem, as i could set up additional speakers to tv audio ouput,
but at same time it is something not working ok.

Why everybody think we have a glass bowl where we search for the needed data?

Does analog audio out on AV port works on any other generic S905x4 device?

Maybe?

So i did a clean fresh install of nightly ng 20, on my X96-x4 4GB/64GB 1Gb HW.rev 1.3.
I switched audio output to analog out, where headphone was attached on AV-port, and lost sound output on TV via HDMI, but also did not get sound on headphone.
Then i started internet radio stream, but it locked up the UI,
I did paste first log: dmesg http://ix.io/4lKF , and i restarted via ssh reboot.
After restart there was sound output first on TV, not on AV-port, but then it also stopped again.
I did paste the other logs: log http://ix.io/4lKJ , crash http://ix.io/4lKK , dbginfo http://ix.io/4lKL

same error of install to emmc in dual boot w/ Android 11 at my side. any resolution to fix it out?
