Added new video in post #1.
Are you using a spinning drive over USB? If yes, what’s the specs of your power supply?
Video should be outdated soon:
And hdmitx21 doesn’t mean 21’th version. It’s HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 2.1 support:
Thanks, djnice77 pointed me to that as well
. Looks like I’ll need to make a 5th video on this box LOL
.
Guess the word has been out now, prices for this box are ridiculous now even on china
nah still low here.
$76.49 for limited time on Amazon U.S.
Was $63 over Prime Day 2026… likely on sale again during Prime Big Deal Days in October, then again during Black Friday.
I just bought one where I am, ~$46. Should be delivered Saturday. Looking forward to getting CE back.
After tomorrows nightly, you can start working on video 5.
That, in combi w/RPi 4 & 5 now supporting full 3D, and new PC options like this.
Firstly, thanks to all the team for the work. I’ve been using CoreElec for more than five years in different boxes.
Last I got this one with the goal of configuring it as a player able to render Dolby Vision in Non-DV displays like my Samsung TV.
I’ve read that has been possible in other boxes, with some tweaks in EDID. Some time ago users should edit/change files and last CoreElec 22 versions had options to config it, if dovi.ko/Dolby Vision was correctly loaded while booting.
Any clues how to enable that wonderful feature right now with this box ?
What info do you need in order to help me about this ?
I’m using latest CE-NO 22 Piers Beta (26-06-2026), with dovi,ko patched fel from this thread.

Thanks in advance.
Thanks, I’ll look for it, I’d just like that feature to be supported in the official branch
Use the EDID dump option in CoreELEC settings. Then replace or modify the /storage/.config/edid.bin to a DV capable display. Then use Player-LED mode.
That seems good enough… thanks a lot. I’ll try it.
Hi,
Just tried edited edid.bin to enable DV on my non DV TV. It looks like brightness over boosted.
I try to tuned the nit value but it doesn’t change anything. Not sure anyone have advice?
My TV only support HDR10 and around 400nit++ only
Can someone please tell me what is the performance on this box when it comes playing ISO images of Blu-rays that have JAVA menu on them. I know that Kodi has this feature if you install the JAVA add-on for menu support. How does it handle in general ?
I can try one rip and tell you what happens, but almost all mine are movie-only MKV rips. Can you name a UHD or BD w/BD-J menus and I’ll re-rip the whole thing to ISO.
Thank you for being available. Whatever movie you like. Important thing is to have a JAVA menu when loading the disc. It can be on the Android side or the CoreELEC side doesn’t matter because I’m more interested in the hardware performance when navigating inside the disc.
I updated to the recent firmware (I do use the Google TV apps) and can no longer boot into Coreelec. ![]()
What is your firmware?
Release date, etc?
Yeah, I found it.
